Nesting?

I know it's early, but all I've wanted to do lately with my new-found energy is to clean and organize EVERYTHING.  It doesn't help that our house is in the midst of renovation, so I'm feeling extra pressure to wrap up projects that we've lost steam on.  In the past few days I've completely cleaned and decluttered the dining room and laundry room, and I'm eyeballing the living room.  I've also gone through several piles of junk that had accumulated over the past few months when I was too busy feeling nauseous and exhausted to do much of anything.

Anyone else?

This is what I want to do . . . unfortunately, my new energy is being channelled back into work that I neglected while sick.  Hopefully I'll be caught up soon.

I feel compelled to organize and clean out all my kitchen cabinets, but haven't found the time or energy yet.

Definitely me! I finally got all the last of the Holiday stuff packed away. Followed by cleaning out all my kitchen cabinets and drawers and our hallway cabinet/drawers. Two giant boxes of giveaways later and I'm ready to tackle the kid's rooms next.

We made a cross-country move a couple of years ago and have been renting since. We really don't like the house we're in (in a crunch we rented a house off Craig's List, with only my mom having seen the house before we signed the lease because she lives here) and would have moved last year except the location was so great. We've decided it's really too tiny for us now, let alone adding to it, so we're going to move. On July 30th... With a teeny baby. Yuck. I think the desire to be out of this house is throwing my nesting into overdrive. I'd start packing today if I could get away with it!

I have no energy but I have becoming a raving witch because this house is a mess and I can't constantly clean it as I'm still exhausted and sick. And my husband leaves the day after tomorrow for 2 weeks, comes home a couple days, then leaves again! UGH I AM SO FRUSTRATED! I can't hardly stand to eat, but I have to cook for 3 kids and clean up after them... the big two "help" but aren't a ton of help, they don't understand picked up isn't the same as clean.

This is def. me too! Last weekend, I went through our entire house and did a huge reorganization and give away. It felt so great!!! But, I def. think I over exhausted myself, so make sure you still take it easy!

Have fun cleaning!

I wish I were a nester I am lucky if I put my clean laundry away. My house looks like a disaster and it gives me anxiety to think about having to put everything away somewhere.

I'm starting to get the bug. We need to clean out our second room to make room for baby stuff and frankly, we have a lot of stuff we can either put in storage or donate. We just need to go in and be ruthless with the purging, I think. I'm dying to start. I've already got some plans for what I want to get rid of and I've stashed a few boxes away for it, I just need to get the energy to actually start doing it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one...  We went to Ikea this past weekend and got two dressers and a nightstand for our bedroom.  I'm SO glad to get rid of the particleboard junk that we had been using since we moved in (6 years ago, and DH had them before we got married...).  Our bedroom is starting to seem like a sanctuary instead of a dumpy college dorm.  I'm also doing a major closet purge today.  Now that I brought out the maternity stuff, I have WAY too many clothes.

I didn't get to the living room yet, but I dumped all of our tupperware and plastic storage containers into a box and bought a set of Pyrex containers with lids to augment the other glass storage we have.  Now everything nests and takes up less space.  Our storage container shelf looks so nice and neat now!  If I miss anything plastic I'll "save" it from the box (which I put into the basement), but if I don't go into it after a month, I'm donating it all.

Hopefully my motivation continues...

Purging is the greatest. We had a huge load of boxes for donation and a bunch of bins to go into storage after going through things this past weekend. It's opened up room in some of our closets to rearrange the stuff in the room that will be the baby's room to get it out of there.

I'm planning to do another purge in a few more months. DP was shocked at how ruthless I was! I still have a few boxes of stuff left that I'm giving to friends that I need to mail. Once that's out of there, I'll be so excited. I already feel so wonderful having gotten rid of what we did. It's awesome.

I wish one of you guys would come over and purge my stuff! I love having purged, but I hate actually doing it :) And it's always way easier being ruthless with someone else's stuff than with your own!

Can't wait to find out the sex of this little one so that I can start getting rid of baby/kid clothes!
