Hi everybody, I just wanted to introduce myself before I start posting here wave.gif

My name is Andrea, I am a mama to two wild toddlers and a wonderful (although at the moment I am mad at him) dh. We are pregnant with our first girl, and I was actually hoping for a boy, but you know how that goes! Her name will be Xochiquetzal, which I love!! Xochi for short. My due date is early April, within days of my birthday and the day after ds1 birthday. Yikes.

See you all around smile.gif

Thank you! And welcome to you, too Love.

I am just going to spell it out how sounds:

Xo-chi-quet-zal

So-chee-ket-zal (like pretzel)

From Wikipedia:

"In Aztec mythologyXochiquetzal (Nahuatl pronunciation: [ʃotʃiˈketsaɬ]) was a goddess associated with concepts of fertility, beauty, and female sexual power, serving as a protector of young mothers and a patroness of pregnancy, childbirth, and the crafts practised by women such as weaving and embroidery. Unlike several other figures in the complex of Aztec female earth deities connected with agricultural and sexual fecundity, Xochiquetzal is always depicted as an alluring and youthful woman, richly attired and symbolically associated with vegetation and in particular flowers. By connotation, Xochiquetzal is also representative of human desire, pleasure, and excess, appearing also as patroness of prostitutes and artisans involved in the manufacture of luxury items.[1]

She was followed by a retinue consisting of birds and butterflies. Worshippers wore animal and flower masks at a festival, held in her honor every eight years.

Her twin was Xochipilli and her husband was Tlaloc, until Tezcatlipoca kidnapped her and she was forced to marry him. At one point, she was also married to Centeotl andIxotecuhtli. By Mixcoatl, she was the mother of Quetzalcoatl."

My ds2 middle name is Quauhtemoc, who was an Aztec ruler. We've got a theme going on smile.gif

CherryBomb - did you have a babe in or around August of 2009? You seem so familiar!  I'm not sure if it was mentioned to you or not but most of us have moved to the April DDC Group. Congrats on your pregnancy!

Late reply, sorry!

In '09, my first was an April baby, then my next was August, but that was 2010. I don't know =)

And you know what? I am having the hardest time with this April DDC Group! I tried "joining" but for weeks its been pending. I messaged someone that I thought was in charge of that group, but got no response. Bah!

Thank you, though!
