How much does up and down nursing affect your pregnancy hormones?

I posted before about my nursing issues during this pregnancy and my 15 mnth old. Was on progesterone and as I came off my milk started drying up. That's when she started biting a lot and then nursing decreased some more, now it's down to one good feed a day. She won't even try during the day now. I want to try picking it up more and am worried that it will affect the pregnancy negatively. Does anyone know if this is safe?

Why wouldn't it be safe?

Well, since I had a known issue with progesterone and to keep the baby safe I was taking supplements. I know breastfeeding throughout pregnancy is safe, but am wondering if a large fluctuation in nursing can cause a change in progesterone, going from normal feeding schedule to hardly at all back to a higher feeding schedule. Since breastfeeding inhibits progesterone from the ovaries, but I guess since the placenta is taking over that function it shouldn't matter at this point? I may be over thinking things. But some good news, she is slowly getting back on track, not as often as she was, but it's getting better.
