dreams

Is anyone else having really vivid and weird dreams?  Mine aren't nightmares, but they are really bizarre.  The other night I had a dream about church groups and a rat with exploding testicles in the same dream.

lol. what a dream! I can't really remember any of mine right now, but they have been more vivid lately.  I guess it's a few different factors- hormones, sleeping more = more rem sleep, and waking up more means more recall of dreams. I'd probably guess that stronger emotions make for weirder dreams also.

This morning, I had a really dumb bad dream right before I woke up where I was shopping at the mall with Cecilia in her stroller. I was looking at something in some store and I decided I wanted to see something in another store, so I just left the stroller in front of a display and went to see the whatever-it-was. On my way back to the first store to get her, I realized (in the dream) how horrible it was to have left her alone and I started panicking. Of course, she wasn't there when I got back to the original store. Somehow, I told myself that it was just a dream and forced myself to wake up. I know it was something that I would CLEARLY never actually do, but for a good hour or so after waking up I was still in panic mode and felt really shaken over that dream.

I'm having the most awful, bizarre dreams. I have been sick for the last two weeks so that probably doesn't help matters! One night, out of desperation, I took Tylenol pm and I swear I hallucinated.

I've had a few weird dreams about babies but they always look really weird. One night I dreamed I ha a boy but he was really skinny and had these freakishly long, skinny limbs. Last night I dreamed I was driving my cousin to the hospital as she was giving birth and the baby came out the size of a prune. I was desperately trying to keep it warm. Then when we got to the hospital it was normal sized but it's head was humongous! The whole thing was very bizarre.

My dreams have been extra intense since the moment of conception. They are extremely vivid and seem forever long. I've had to learn to be careful of what I watch, or whom I talk to right before I go to bed, otherwise I'm likely to dream about that person/subject all night long.
They also start and keep going. Even with as many times as I wake up and pee, they start right off where they ended right before I got up.

This has been happening to me too!

I have been having more dreams that I remember in general, but after I've been up for a few hours they fade away.  I had a stressful week at work so they were all work dreams last week.  One woke me up and I couldn't go to sleep until I had got and answered a bunch of emails.

Has anyone other than saffrongirl had pregnancy/baby dreams?  I've only had one and it wasn't all that exciting.

I've had a least a couple baby dreams.  In one I was nursing and in another I had a baby with a friend from high school but wasn't sure at the beginning that the baby was mine (obviously some confusion there.  Yikes!).

I've also had more sex dreams than usual, which was a little weird at first.  Lots of other really intense crazy dreams, but of course I can't remember any of them right now, which is probably a good thing.

i've been having LOTS of memorable dreams. some of them are sex dreams, some are about giving birth (like the one i had of the baby being born FACE FIRST and i was in a position where the baby was looking at me during birth), and some are just random and funny.

i had a dream the other night that i visited someone's church and it had a hair salon (why not?) and the stylist was this guy who reminded me of my vision of Cinna from The Hunger Games and he did this cool thing to my hair: he basically shellaced it with hairspray to turn it into a "canvas" and then started painting on an abstract pattern with different colors of hair dye (pink, purple, etc). Unfortunately, I woke up before I got to see the final result. But now I really wish I could have weird multicolor hair.

Ooooh, I want a Cinna stylist!!

I just woke up from a nap, and it was very disappointing- my partner has a big laundry pile right now and I decided to finally just put it away even though he insisted I don't do it, because it's "his job." I was diligently working away and had just finished all but a few socks- and then I woke up. Ugh! I looked over at the corner of the room and sure enough there was the pile still there. I can't believe I already folded it but it wasn't real lol!

I am laughing out loud at this. But I totally sympathize, how annoying! Reminds me of when I got really mad at my husband for waking me up from a nap the other day because (in my dream) I was in the middle of making a churro strawberry shortcake hot fudge sundae. Whatever that is. I wanted to eat it, that's all I know.

No real nightmares but yes crazy dreams.  Reading the dreams in this thread are pretty funny!

I had my very first baby dream last night and it was weird and horrifying. I dreamt I was babysitting my friend's little boy, who is 3.5mo. I picked him up from another friends house, and after I had him for a while, I realized that his diaper hadn't been changed all day, so I looked, and had only disposable diapers for him so I didn't want to change him, but then I realized that his cloth diaper was soaked, so I started taking it off of him, and there were layers upon layers of diapers and towels inside the cover and they were all soaked. So I finally got him changed and then I realized that he hadn't eaten all day either. So I got out a bottle of my friends breast milk and fed him one, then another bottle and then a third. When he finally finished eating I realized that I fed him too much, so I put him out on the sidewalk in his little disposable diaper so he could get some sun, and then I put a curved edging brick over his chest so he wouldn't roll over. When I went back inside I looked out the window and the brick fell off his body and hit him in the head. I ran outside, horrified that I had left the baby outside, and picked him up, but he had shrunk in the sun and was the size of a small kitten, and his heartbeat was really, really slow from being in the sun and getting hit in the head with a brick. Then I woke up. I felt so bad and confessed what I had done in my dream to my friend. She just laughed at me and said, "you know crazy dreams are a side effect of pregnancy."

So I had this one crazy dream.  I'm a big democrat, the kind that loves President Obama.  But I still pay attention to the Republicans because I have to know what they're saying too.  The other night I had a dream that Mitt Romney was the father of my child but he was a total deadbeat dad and I had to follow him around to all the caucus states to get him to pay for child care for his son.  I believe I was in New Hampshire when I discovered that I was his wife, but I wasn't the only one.  He actually had three other wives and had children with all of them but I was the only one who was having to follow him around and get him to take care of his child.  All the rest were treated like little princesses... I kept thinking all through the dream "Hang on a minute!  Your rich! Why won't you help me pay for childcare."  I woke up after that but I haven't been able to stomach the sight of Mitt Romney since.

I had a few nutty dreams last week. They seem to have stopped now. One was a strange one about my ex-boss who filled my toothpaste tube with salsa. LOL

I had another about the baby - who was a girl in my dream. I soooo know it's a girl.

I finally had a dream about a kids the other night. There were two little girls. Pretty sure I'm having a girl too now.

I had a dream that my husband and I were at a conference at an oceanside hotel, but for some reason we were in separate rooms and his had a beautiful ocean view and mine looked over some depressing barren field.  Also, my colleague and his wife were staying there, and they were having marital problems and she had just had a baby (I think by homebirth, because there were bloody blankets or rugs in the bathtub) and I was trying to help them get through whatever it was they were going through.  Also, at one point this oceanside hotel was in Indiana and then later it was somewhere outside Phoenix.  I also had a dream (last night too... I was busy I guess) that I missed the lecture I'm giving later tonight because I somehow managed to not look at a clock until 3pm.  So I decided to walk to the lecture after driving halfway and only after I was halfway there did I realize this was stupid, so I walked back to find my car.  The guy who organized the lecture was walking too and he had forgotten about it and his baby son was walking with him.   I was really relieved when I woke up from this one, because I was so freaking stressed thinking I had forgotten this lecture, and every second of the dream was making me later and later.  Ugh.

I've had a few baby dreams and one nursing dream so far this pregnancy, which have all been weird.  The baby dreams are almost always responsibility dreams, like I leave the baby somewhere or I don't acknowledge the baby as mine.

That is so neat and also Thebyr.  Are you guys finding out beforehand to confirm or waiting until birth?

We're going to wait until birth to find out. What about you? Gonna find out?
