Coffee/Caffeine - Page 2

Since we're talking about coffee substitutes, anyone have a pgcy tea they recommend?  I was going through lbs of RRL by the end of my last go 'round. Literally--I was drinking 2qt infusions daily for the last 3 weeks! I love it and can't wait for it to get warm like someone said upthread. But what good pgcy teas are out there?

I looooove coffee. My fetus does not. I haven't had a drop of coffee in a few weeks because now it tastes and smells like burnt hair.

If it didn't make me sick, I would continue to have my morning cup.

I was a dedicated 1 large cup in the morning coffee drinker, but since finding out I'm pregnant, I cut it all out.  I actually don't want it either...I'm addicted to ice water right now...and where I live it's snowing...but it's the only thing that momentarily satisfies my unending thirst!  Juice makes me feel bad, so it's literally been just water.

I tried the whole warming milk on the stove with a little bit of vanilla and I added nutmeg (and also a little honey!)  It was soooo utterly delicious! :)

You can also try pumpkin pie spice!

Or any of those flavored stevia's, to mix it up! (Wisdom Naturals liquid stevia. Cheaper online)

In tea bags, there is Traditional Medicinals Organic Pregnancy Tea or Yogi Tea's Mother To Be tea - or you can buy oatstraw, RRL and nettles in bulk to make your own~ with lemon verbena, spearmint, etc. for flavor.

Coffee smile.gif I am a big, big coffee drinker! I often have close to a full pot in the morning, minus DH's big travel mug. I am doing what I normally do and bought decaf to start adding, I have to wean myself down or I get bad headaches. I'll drop back to 25/75 caff/decaff for the first trimester, and then usually go back up to 50/50, sometimes regular, by the mid-second trimester or so. I WOH and have three kids. Coffee is not an option, it's a requirement.

I don't have a hard time quitting pop, and while I do miss myself a nice glass of wine in the evening, it's not a big deal. But my coffee... don't take it away! caffix.gif

I drink 1 cup of coffee in the morning and just stick with water or unsweet tea. If I want soda I'll grab a coke zero. Last 2 days I've been bad and had 2 cups of coffee in the morning.
