I love sewing for little ones... You get so many outfits out of so little fabric AND it's way cheaper AND it takes hardly any time at all!!!  Where did you get the pattern for those o so cute baby clothes??  :)

I am working on making maternity clothes right now.  I just ordered a serger (as an overdue birthday gift) and have been cutting out my projects until it arrives next week! :)  So far, I have cut out 4 skirts (3 to go   So many since we will be pregnant ALL. SUMMER. LONG!!!) and am thinking about tearing into a pair of jeans and adding a panel to accomodate what will soon be a growing belly!  :) Once those projects are done, I am going to make a super cute baby play mat (I made one for my cousin who is due in April and it turned out better than expected and was super easy)!

judybean Can you post the pattern you use? The outfits you've made are oh my goodness so cute!

mymaya 5w4d is so early for an ultrasound, but you know that smile.gif I'm sure there'll be a lot more to see at 7w!

AFM I very patiently (I thought) waited until today to call my doctor's office (4w1d lol.gif) and then they were closed for MLK, so I thought "Ah! I should have called Friday!" I'd like to do a dating/viability ultrasound and then start exploring doula/midwife options, though I'll most likely also do shadow care w/ my family practice doc.

Judybean, those are adorable!

We had an interesting weekend. My cat woke me up on Sunday morning super early. Turns out the boiler was flooding my basement and he couldn't get to the litter box. We had it fixed in 4 hours, but the kitchen had dropped to 56 degrees even with the space heater running in the living room. Never a dull moment!

I pulled out my maternity pants and was depressed to find that they are all too snug. Blah! I do usually end up losing 5 or so lbs during my first trimester because I get so sick, but I have a feeling I'll be buying new pants this time around.

My symptoms have been coming and going. One minute I feel great, the next minute I feel awful. I don't recall feeling nauseous this early with my other pregnancies. Maybe the morning sickness will be over sooner then...maybe....right? lol

Robynee, I hadn't even yet thought about maternity clothes! Ack! I sent all mine out to friends after the birth of my now-3 year old, but I'm sure I'd be in the same boat--I was a smaller pre-pregnancy lady then!

Ugh. I wonder, since we'll be summer biggies, if I'll be able to get away with elastic-banded skirts... Those are a dime a dozen in my little hippie town!

Thank you, everybody!  The pattern for the tops is from the New Conceptions Baby Essentials pattern. I often use the knotted cap pattern too!  The hat with the ears comes from a Kwik Sew pattern.. I'll have to look up the number! And then most baby pants I make are from the Little Comet Tails Cresent Moon Yoga Pants pattern.

jodieannanton -- so excited you're getting a serger! I couldn't live without mine! Most of the baby clothes' sewing is done on there!! I have a Babylock Eclipse that I just ADORE!!!

I've never made maternity clothes before... and I've never been pregnant through the summer before (I have three March babies and a December one), so I'll need new shirts for sure!  I was thinking about this the other day and wondering how to adapt a regular shirt pattern... thinking of lengthening it (obviously), widening the front panel.. and even thinking of adding rouching along the sides (I love that look)...

Oh those clothes are supercute. I have to get back into the swing of sewing. I don't have time for anything will all my jobs, kids, dog etc..argh.

I had a 5w4d ultrasound with DS and all you could see was a bubble, nothing else. There was no baby, no heart, no nothing. Next US was at 10 weeks and OMG...that kid had grown quite a bit and was doing flips all around. So I wouldn't worry about not seeing much. It's very very early.

AFM: No cravings, tiredness, moodswings or anything else. I have so much energy right now and if I didn't know I was pregnant I'd absolutely deny it.  My boobs hurt and whenever I'm braless I have 'stuff' coming out..TMI  I know...it's very early but my boobs have always loved being a milkmachine.

Edit to add: I told my parents I was preggo again and my mom jumped right on and told me to have another c/s (I had a c/s, a VBAC and aiming for another vaginal delivery now) because she sees so many patients with very thin uterine walls (she's an OR nurse). I wish she would just stop that discussion. I was MISERABLE after my c/s...I was so depressed, didn't want my son, I was trying to figure out who I can give him to and it took me two years to get over it. Vent end.

I love those baby clothes too! You're very talented!

I'm feeling awful, I have the dreaded morning sickness (except it's more like all day sickness) and I'm trying to keep up with my 17 m.o. DD!    All I currently want to do is lie down and rest.  My DD skipped her naps two days in a row and I'm exhausted, plus she's getting a molar and nursing like crazy.  UGH! I can't really vent IRL yet so thanks for this!

I'm thinking about knitting some baby clothes this time around and have been checking out patterns online when I can get a minute.

Wow.  Sorry you had to go through that.  I had a serious bout of ppd that made me go through something similar.  It took me 2 years to get through it enough to be feeling like a better version of myself and a good enough mom who actually liked her kid.  I still occasionally have pangs of guilt for "missing out" on dd1's early years.... both for myself and for her.  I got pregnant with dd2 to give dd1 a sibling and once she was born, I realized how great having kids and being a mother can be!  For months, all I kept saying and thinking was, "OH!  THIS is what it is supposed to be like!"  Now I want a million kids!  (I'd settle for a minimum of 5, though... orngbiggrin.gif)

Everyone knows we'll be planning a VBAC, but outside of my local mommy group (which has a lot of homebirthers), no one knows we're considering a HB.  I have a close friend who I know will be very against it, and we'll probably just have to agree to disagree and not talk about it.  I'm really hoping that my mom can be supportive even if she doesn't completely agree.  She was just asking me today if we'd picked a provider yet and I told her no because we're not really very happy with either of the (hospital) options we have.  She agreed that both of them sounded not so great, so at least she gets that part for sure.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I will wait for my U/S on Friday at 7w. however, my brown spotting turned to pink/red today, and I have a bit of cramps. I am lying down and taking it easy, but my heart is telling me it is over. I will update you.

((hugs)) and light and love to you these next few days. I pray you're surrounded by peace whatever the outcome (while of course hoping for the best).

MissE - glad to see you have cramps, I have been cramping in the middle and left side, I have never been pregnant w/o loss so I really don't know what normal is for me.
