I went to the thrift store today and they were clearancing all sweaters for .99 each! I bought four. So I've started making some nightime covers with them and never lanolized wool before... how do you do this?

I've got lansinoh... now what...

I just did mine for the first time last week. It worked, so maybe it's right. I filled the sink w/cool water and then I nuked about an inch or so of lanolin w/ about a half cup or so of water. You have to stir up the lanolin in the container you heat it in then pour it over the soaker. Does this make sense? If it doesn't , I think there are directions in the diapering resources forum. HTH.

Let the lanolin cool, and put it in the cool water BEFORE you put the sweater in - otherwise it can "pool" and create sticky spots.

Oh - and lanolizing is the *last* step, after you have felted your sweater and sewn the cover.

(I just went to the thrift store today and bought two gorgeous sweaters...soon to be gorgeous bum sweaters...!)

I boil some water, put it in a mason jar with a once inch piece of lansinoh, a drop or two of baby shampoo, put the cover on and shake the h*ll out of it. I let it cool for a few minutes and then pour it over some already soaking covers that are in lukewarm water. I swish it around for a little while and then leave them for a half hour or so.
