I just had my third baby girl, she was my second homebirth and I feel really sad that my visits with my midwife and her assistants are coming to a close. I loved having my appointments with them, and having them in my home. I felt part of a circle of women who shared this idea of beautiful births in common and I felt really loved. Now I feel like I've lost that and I'm looking for friends who share the idea of homebirth or natural birth. Everyone I know here thinks homebirth is scary and that I'm some sort of a weirdo and I'm getting tired of that feeling. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can meet some new friends locally? I live in Utah county, Utah.

I would look for a local La Leche League, or maybe an attachment parenting group in your area. You can usually find like minded moms in those groups. Good luck :)
ETA: Also, maybe suggest to your midwife that she host some kind of picnic/social event for her current and past clients, that may be an idea as well!

Great suggestions. I remember feeling the same way when we had our son. It is rough finding folks with this type of experience. Maybe a meet up group? There is a list of women waiting to have a group started in Salt Lake City, see here. Thanks! Those are great ideas. I think it will really help me while I'm going through this emotional time. I appreciate the feedback so much.
