How big of a freak am I? Physical discomfort almost 2 years after c/s!

I had a relatively uncomplicated, untraumatic (to a reasonable extent) emergency c/s in March of 2010.  I do not feel that I suffer from enough c/s emotionally-related trauma that this is indicative of negative feelings from having a c/s.

There are still times when my c/s area is uncomfortable.  If I have to, for instance, open the silverware drawer by pressing both of the child-safety latches downward simultaneously, I get a pretty lousy-feeling twinge every time.

I have noticed a bit more of this kind of thing if I'm tense or wired up about something, but I attribute that to overall muscle tension as opposed to something directly related to the surgery.

I no longer feel the odd "pulling" sensation I did for the first year or so.

I would guess I don't have adhesions, but perhaps I just don't know exactly what those are all about.

So, compadres, what gives?

Limited c/s experience here, but my first thought was adhesions. Why do you think you don't have them?

I think it's safe to say you are never going to be exactly the same after a major surgery like this, I mean they go through soooo many layers with a c/s. I've never felt 100% the same after my births. And like pp said you could very well have adhesion's, it's just scar tissue that has grown onto other parts inside there. Massaging your scar can help alot. Take some olive, almond, or sesame oil and start at each edge, and rub up and down gently along the scar, I try to do it after showers.

I haven't had a c/s, but I had a laparotomy in 2010 to remove a ruptured ectopic and a fallopian tube.  The scar is about 5 inches across my bikini line, and it still gives me twinges sometimes.  I do think I've got some adhesions.  It bothered me quite a lot during the last trimester of pregnancy (DS was born in June, almost a year after the surgery).  It's gotten much better over time...

I actually just went to see my Dr. this morning for pain 19 mos. after my 2nd c/s.  As others have suggested I would also guess that you likely do have adhesions.  Also, keep in mind that they also cut a lot of nerves that just may not regenerate correctly.
