This is a multiple choice poll...the top few are meant to stand as "either or" type questions....but the bottom few I'm just wondering if you guys are experiencing something similar to me!

Thank you for taking my poll!

Oh and my answers were:

Very frequent but mostly hard to notice unless I happen to think I'm feeling one and check my belly. Just a mild to moderate tightening.

Until I have sex....then it's like CRAZY tight and hard and really almost uncomfortable......but they go away immediately if I lay on my side.

I seem to get them more in the night when I'm laying on my back...those ones seem to get really tight....but go away immediately when I lay on my side.

It's actually really weird how immediately they disappear when I turn on my side.

I'm not really experiencing them at all.  Like maybe even only 1 time period.

I feel them all the time. I'd say I probably have 4 or 5 per hour, every hour... I feel them during the day and night, so activity level doesn't seem to be much of a factor. They are much worse after sex, but orgasm is contraction of the uterus, so that makes perfect sense. The BHs I have regularly as quite noticeable, but not painful. As the pregnancy progresses, though, they will become more frequent and more intense. I've had them so much with each pregnancy--during my first pregnancy they really freaked me out and I ended up spending the night in the hospital around 25 weeks to be monitored... I was diagnosed with an "irritable uterus" and told to limit my time on my feet (I was working in a nursing home at the time). Since then, I've carried 4 more babies till at least 35 weeks and my "irritable uterus" has never been an issue--nor have I found staying off my feet to reduce the BH ctx.

Before I started bleeding I would have described them as infrequent and hardly noticeable.  Blood is a uterine irritant, though, so now I get very strong ones that feel like real labor contractions.  Thankfully they are infrequent as long as I stay in bed.

In all of my other pregnancies my BH's started super early and were very frequent and uncomfortable. This pregnancy has been a lot more comfortable for me in a lot of ways and I attribute it to cutting gluten out of my diet. I hardly notice an contractions at all so I have no idea how often they happen, but they are not uncomfortable and do not give me that breathless feeling anymore. The only difference is that I am gluten free and taking vitD; I've noticed less cramps, less bh's, no swelling, less congestion, no sore gums, less "pregnancy brain" and a lot more. I used to have 10 or more bh's an hour and they started around 6wks so this is incredible for me :-D

Very frequent (10+ a day) and very noticeable. I can feel my belly tightening and a crampy feeling in my lower abdomen. I've only ever had these with my girls, never with my boys. Isn't that weird?

Yeah, I'm curious about this because I'm having SO many more BH ctx this time around. They are definitely "hardly noticeable" but I know I'm having many every hour...so many more than last time. I have always heard that they increase with subsequent pregnancies, I was just wondering if everyone experienced that!

I wonder if they actually increase or you just know what to look for.  I swear I felt one before I peed on a stick.  I was just laying back in a recliner and I felt a weird sensation all over my body and then realized it was the same sensation I feel when I get a contraction.  My midwife thinks I can feel the hormones released during them or something.  I'm definitely more aware of them this pregnancy (3rd), but they aren't very strong at this point.  I can just "tell" that I'm having one based on the way my skin feels.  It seems to be happening more often than the last 2, especially at at earlier stage.

I've only felt them when I O. I've not really felt them any other time but I've not really been 'listening' for them if YKWIM. I'm 20 weeks and this is my 2nd.

With one of my pg's I had one the day my period was due and it was the same way. I can just feel the feeling in my body, mostly my chest. I haven't had any like that this time though, I just feel my uterus tight once in a while if I put my hands on it.

I don't buy the subsequent pregnancies thing, at least not in my case, because I had none with my first (a boy), tons with my second (a girl), none with my third (a boy), and tons with this one (a girl). I think it's so odd that it only happens with girls for me. There has to be a reason for that!

Yeah that is crazy!

I get it mostly just when I'm exercising. It is very noticeable and sometimes I have to stop cycling for a minute.

Never had BH with any of mine.  the only time i ever had contractions was was in labor.

I had them starting around 17 weeks with DD and they started around that time with this little boy as well. I just need more water than most people and have to drink it all day long. I'm not to fussed about it though, as my first labor was pretty short for a first timer (7.5 hrs), so I'm hoping this next one will be even shorter after my uterus gets such a workout!
