I was planning a home birth, but developed high blood pressure at 38 +5 weeks.
My midwife sent me to hospital, and I was induced by pitocin. Luckily it was my second birth, my cervix was ripening (2 cm and 50% effaced) and I was having mild contractions already, so the pitocin induction was sucessful. After pitocin was started I had non painfull contractions for 10 hours. At 7 am they started to feel like cramps, shortly after that they increased and the nurse turned off the pitocin and my body took over. I delivered 5 hours later with 15 minutes pushing, and no drugs. I had no idea an induction could go so well. I was terrified when I learned I had to be induced, and was pleasantly suprised by outcome.
jadey, Congrats on the successful induction!!!
