I love that song.  Love. Love. Love.  And Cecilia was one of my favorite names, same goes for Luther. I already used those names for puppies, although, Cecilia at least, was subsequently renamed. Why'd I have to give puppies such cool names?  How out is it if you had a pet named something?  I worked with a guy named Thor, and he said that his parents had a dog named Thor before he was born.

The "S" or soft "C" sound in names can be tricky with the last name.  So I don't think Essie/Esther would work, I had already tried the combo. 

Also, Ilovechotchkes, I also really like the name Ruth.  Unfortunately that has also been veto'd by DP.  Your names are beautiful.

Moremadder, Adeline is a great name.

And Eluethia, if you called her Evie or Vivi (I love Vivi) then I'm sure that is just what she would go by.  I've known plenty of Elizabeth's that were either Beth, or Liz, or even Elizabeth, that is what they were called by their parents, and what they preferred to be called.

Ninetales, I love your girl names.

I really have no idea.. I like Sabine for a girl or Lilian both are 'family' names of Grandmothers..

For boys, I haven't had much luck finding names- but we have the added challenge they have to work in German and English which means no names which start with J or W. . .

I will find out this next week if its bb, gg, bg and then from there we will start working on it.

Yeah, I named my now 11 year old cat Rowan, and I wish I hadn't, because I want to use it!

My oldest son is named Roland! it sounds really close! Roland has a friend named Rowan, and when we're calling one of them they both come running!

I havent read all the posts but wanted to jump in quick and say two of my favorite names are Charlotte and Ezekial. Call him Zeke, for short. DH says no!

I'm loving these names and the reasons behind them.

We have 2 of each letter, so this baby throws us off and frees us up to pick any letter.  LOL.  Last time we had to find a J name.

We do NOT like popular names and really try to choose names that are mostly unheard and unused. 

Our middle names are attributes of God.  One in English and 2 in Hebrew. (The others werent part of the tradition...LOL)

We like Frederick and Lucille.  But if we had twins we have Fred and Lucy.  LOL.  Silly joke, sorry.

Every time I hear or read the name Adeline I keep thinking of a barbershop quartet singing "sweet Adeline"

sol_y_paz I feel like its 1 girl, 1 boy.. but also feel it could be 2 boys.. I really have no idea.. before I knew it was twins I was sure it was a girl without a doubt but with 2, it really throws me off.

Boys names are so so hard anyway. Is it just me or are the there loads of more exciting girls names out there. 2 names and the language issue, wow that's gonna be fun. I just found Joshua on the Spanish lists. I'd always liked that but thought with the J it wouldn't work in Spanish so it's nice to see it there, same as Dylan, that's on the list too. I don't want to find out the sex this time so have told OH he's only allowed to find out towards the end and if we have a name sorted. If he's just agreeing to girls names i know he vetoed before I will know it's a girl.

It's definitely not just you.  I can rattle off a huge list of girl names I like, but for boys I had to go to the SSA list, go down, and pick everything I didn't hate.  I came up with about 15 in the end, J vetoed one.  So we at least have a list of considerations.  But there are so many girl names I LOVE.

There is actually a boy name I love but being as it's the number 2 name for boys I just don't know if I want to use it.  And it's really funny because I don't actually know any little boys with this name.

We're in the same boat. We have our girl name totally picked out, but a boy name is really not coming along easily!

I am pretty sure this kiddo is a boy. In which case, dh doesn't like many of the names I like.
Yesterday we talked about Declan, or Dex for short.
I agree! Boy names are so hard!

Our current battle is Vivienne vs. Vivian. Husband prefers Vivian, I prefer Vivienne. Guess we'll see in a few weeks if we even need to battle it out over it!

We're liking Arbor for a boy and maybe Piper for a girl?  We also like Skye or Dune for a middle... I really just want to have a few names we like by the time I give birth so that once we meet the little babe we can feel it out then!  Names are so interesting.  I have a very unique name-Sheaffer, and growing up I always wanted to change it because no one else had it. My husband is Kevin, and he hears and sees his name everywhere, haha!!  Our daughters are Isabella and Adeline- not too far out, but old fashioned enough not to be heard all the time (isabella more than adeline).  It sure is fun finding a name that gives a child a sense of confidence, and individuality, I think :)

sheaffer, we're doing Piper for a girl and (maybe) Archer for a boy.  So, we have pretty similar names!  We're not finding out the sex, so we can keep some names in the hopper, which I like.  DH isn't totally sold on Archer, but he loves Piper, so it's good to have one out of the way.  He tends to like more traditional names, while I like unique (but not crazy) names, so these are pretty good compromises (probably more of a compromise for him than for me).

CM, our friends just had a Vivienne.  I love it.  They call her Vivi. 

dovemama, we threw around Dexter (Dex for short).  We ended up not going that route because we would essentially be naming our child after a fictional serial killer, but I love Declan.  Very cool name.

That's our plan, to call her Vivi! A Cece and a Vivi. 

I really like Archer, but I have a nephew named Asher, and they're just too similar! So, back to the drawing board...
