Soy Isoflavones

I am beginning a new cycle, and wondering if anyone has any experience (good or bad) with Soy Isoflavones taken for 5 days early in your cycle. I have read mixed research on the topic. There doesn't seem to be a huge amount of research done on soy taken using this method to promote ovulation. I have read a lot of positive personal stories though.

I've thought about doing the Soy also, and have read a lot of good things... I am curious to see how it goes!. Good luck

This was my second cycle taking Soy Isoflavones, and I just got my BFP yesterday!

A little background...I have PCOS and ovulate really late or not at all on my own (day 30 or later).  My luteal phase is also usually only 8 or 9 days.  I had to take Clomid for 2 cycles to get pregnant with DD1.

I did some research and decided to try soy isoflavones since Clomid had worked so well for me.  The first cycle, I took it on days 5 - 9 and slowly increased the dose like this.  I decided to do a high-ish dose because I didn't ovlulate on low doses of Clomid.

Day 5 - 80mg

Day 6 - 120mg

Day 7 - 160mg

Day 8 - 200mg

Day 9 - (would have taken 200mg, but we were travelling and I forgot it!)

I ovulated on CD22 and had a 14 day luteal phase.  No BFP, but a big improvement for me.

This cycle I took the following.

Day 5 - 120mg

Day 6 - 120mg

Day 7 - 160mg

Day 8 - 160mg

Day 9 - 200mg

I ovulated on CD19 and got a BFP at 12 dpo.

If you are a late or weak ovulater, then give soy isoflavones some serious consideration!

Wow! Congrats!!!! I am not charting, just using opks. We have been trying for about 6 or 7 months....seriously for the last 3. My cycles tend to be long and I get pos opks for 4 or 5 days so I am wondering if I really ovulate every cycle. Unfortunately I didn't get the soy on time and i am on CD 7 right now, so I am going to try maca this cycle and start soy next cycle (if there is one;) did you have any side effects from the soy? Once again, congrats!

I had some headaches and sleeplessness during the last couple of days I took it, much like with Clomid, but it wasn't terrible.
