We beat the Yankees again! Definitely worth all the bananas you care to post!

(Now I always think of Survivor's Boston Rob watching too. I am lame.)

How is this for Coen Bros madness? I saw Ladykillers last night. Yes, 2 new to me Coen Bros movies, 2 nights in a row. Hotmamacita, are you proud of me?

for Ladykillers.

wow, a thread about me! not sure whether i should be flattered or running scared.

yes, dado is a he, but no, "dado" is not "dad-o", it's a croatian diminutive of my given name. clever, though!

i never claimed to be female, i simply never specified my gender. why? because - as no doubt other W/SAHDs can attest - suspicion of active fathers - especially active fathers with young daughters - runs rampant from playgrounds to grocery stores to internet groups. frankly there are things said about men on MDC that would be banned in a millisecond if said about women. some had guessed and asked me directly - generally having the respect to do so via PM rather than publicly - and they can attest that i was quite open and never lied about my gender defect, asking only that it not be publicly discussed.

i came to MDC as a *parent*, not as a this or a that. there was never any danger of "stalking" or other inappropriate behavior as the Mods have known all along. i am deeply deeply hurt at the circumstances and alleged reasons for the Great Unveiling of two weeks ago, but cannot say more as that involves a moderator and would be a UA violation.

dado!!!!

Welcome back hon!

Stick around, we need you.

Gender defect, heh.

So, do you like the Coen Bros?

Gender defect? Huh. As the mom of a son, I must take umbrage with that formulation.

Anyway, some of my best friends are male....

YOu know DaryLLL....I am surprised that YOU would have the gumption to ask such a divisive question here at MDC. I mean people either get their movies or not. Its quite a spiritual thing. :LOL

So before DAD-O answers (AND YES I AM PROUD OF YOU DaryLLL, please tell us what YOU think of their movies and style.....

C'mon.......

Well, I didn't watch Mad House this week as I had to watch the Sox. But my favorites are Don the vampire and that "modern primiteve" guy. He has so much dignity, and when he was hung up by his skin---very impressive.

I find Fiona fake and controlling, quite annoying. All that woo-woo witch stuff, bleh. Do not go for the dyed blonde hair look either.
I think Fiona's fake, too. But, I still think she's hot. I her clothes! Don gets on my nerves. I just see him as someone who's taking his rebellious phase a bit far. Art, the modern primitive, is awesome! I have so much respect for him! I love that he doesn't become involved with all the drama. Fiona and Ta'Shia can't stay away from it!

OK, Coen Bros.

Good actors who turn in excellent performances.

I think Fargo is my favorite. Altho earlier on, Raising Arizona was an icon to me.

"Go get me a toddler!"

"Baby needs his diptet."

But Fargo! "Think I'm gonna barf," in that Dakota accent.

The duck painting on the $.03 stamp.

I don't know, the movies have their own logic in the midst of the craziness. everything is taken to the logical extreme conclusion. Bits of fantasy and hallucinatory imagery too.

"I'll give you a bj for $1000."

"Won't he mind?" (points to guy floating unconscious in pool next to floating alcohol bottle)

"No" (says apparently dumb blonde), "He's a nihilist."

Next topic, back to Mad House. Yes, Vampire Don is a bit of a poser, but I find him fascinating. He looks cool. Cosmetic surgery and all.

Hilary Briss, on the other hand, was a source of confusion for me...
That means I'm doing something right. :LOL

OK, I figured out why I skipped Lebowski before. I mixed it up with Kingpin (which I also didn't see).
