So, our family is experiencing some difficult financial times - I've been the only one employed for months in a family with three adults, a 3.5-year old and a baby on the way - and I am having this nagging feeling that I need to have a doula present during my upcoming birth.

 

My husband is very supportive of me trying to find a birth doula, but is concerned about money, for obvious reasons. Already, we're paying so much for the birth out-of-pocket (from what's left in our savings) because we're trying to avoid being in the hospital, that an extra lump sum of money to pay for yet another service is proving to be a difficult commitment to make.

 

So, long story short, do any of you mamas have recommendations for someone who'd be willing to help us out? I'm currently 33 weeks along and due sometime around March 5.
