I never thought I'd want kids. Honestly, I wouldn't be devastated if we didn't have one, but my husband wants kids, and now I'm almost certain I'm ok with one. :-) Maybe even this year.

My problem is that I'm all over the place as far as pregnancy/childbirth/raising kids. I definitely know I want a fairly hands off pregnancy and homebirth (ok, attempt at one) and I've found a midwife I like and everything. But of course I'm leery of telling friends and family about this for fear of hearing "but what if something *happens*!!!!! You and the baby will DIE!!!!!!". On the other hand, I love having a career and don't plan on quitting my job after we have a baby, so I know that puts me at odds with the "hippie" type moms (no offense intended).
