Yes, good for both of you!

Tomorrow is my weigh in and meeting.  I was on vacation last week, and couldn't figure out how to track on my iPad for some weird reason, so my expectations for this week are low!  We'll see...we'll see...

Glad I found this thread!

Peace ~~

Thanks and ditto what bejeweled said!  :)

So, I did my first spin class yesterday.  OMG, It sucked. But I will be going back for more because I need it even if I don't want it.  Man am I sore today tho.

Okay, so I had my weigh-in today.  I lost 2.5 pounds.  I didn't track because we were on vacation.  I ate pizza 3x and cake once and hardly exercised.  On the week I gained 2 pounds, I exercised 6 days and tracked.  Go figure.  I think my cycle is really playing into this.  I weigh less when I have my period and more mid-cycle.  We'll see how it plays out next month!  But, hey, I'm not complaining that I lost!!

Hoping everyone has a great week!

Dmitrizmom,  I have been wanting to try a spinning class.  Hard, yes?  Did you feel great after, though??  (besides being sore that is!)

Oh man, I love/hate spin classes....so good, so evil.

Today went well.  Just knowing that I am tracking points here kept me in line today.  Nothing like community support to help me stay on the plan.

B -- oatmeal, tea (4)

S -- banana (2)

L -- brown rice, egg, veg, banana (10)

S -- almonds, dried apricots (6)

D -- ww pasta, sauce, 3 meatballs, salad, parmesean cheese (14)

Total - 36

JoyfulHeart - I'm with Ruthiegirl on this one... I think that spin is going to be a love/hate relationship.  I felt like I was going to die from about 2 minutes in.  It was a real eye-opener about the deficiencies elsewhere in my cardio program.  When I got done, my legs were shaking and my skin was tingle-y. I'm going to do my best to go at least 1x/week.

As it stands right now, I do boot camp on Monday and Friday, kettle bell on Tuesday and Thursday, and I try for a couple times a week swimming and cardio on the elliptical.  I really need to get past my reservations about some of the equipment and just jump.  I'd put off spin because I had worked it up to this big bad evil in my head.  And although it was hard, not bad in the way I thought it was going to be, IYKWIM?  I'm wanting nice weather so I can just go bike and run/walk outside.  I'm not where I want to be fitness-wise, but I am getting better.

I've had a loss every week since 1/12 (really before that, but that is when I officially started WW).  If I can keep losing at least 6 lbs a month, even with plateaus, I'll be ok.  Just really want to be at goal by Christmas. That is my gift to myself for 2012. :)

Weigh in day for me.  I lost 2 pounds.   So encouraging.  I have been very focused the past few days and I can really feel a difference.  I go to bed a bit hungry and wake up ready for breakfast.  Nothing uncomfortable, but I know that if I wasn't tracking I would be filling that slight hunger by eating after dinner which has been a long habit of mine.  Instead of snacking, I drink a big mug of tea or simply go to bed earlier.

This week will be a good one.  I would like to be down to 190 next week and then have a good bye party to the 190's.

Start date:  1-31-2012

Starting weight:  198

Current weight: 193

Goal weight:  150

Joyfulheart and Ruthiegirl, Congrats! That is great news.

Ruthiegirl, when I'm hungry at bedtime I eat 1/2 cup of fat free cottage cheese. It's one point. Or I'll eat a hard boiled egg for two points.

That is a good idea.  I'll pick some up next time I am shopping.  I have been needing a few more snack ideas and these are perfect.

Yeah, that's great that you lost 2 pounds, Ruthiegirl!

I have a question for everyone.  What are your go-to food items that you love to eat and have low points values??  I was eating a "no-sugar added" fudgesicle after dinner, for 1 point and they are so yummy and satisfying, I thought it was a real treat.  I just read the ingredients, oh man, there is some big crap in there, so after this box is gone, no more.  Well, it was fun while it lasted!  Would love some ideas.

Peace ~

My go to snacks:

bowl of berries with 2/3 T chocolate syrup (1 pt)

1 wedge Laughing Cow light cheese on celery or a carrot (1 pt)

1 package of Budding beef (I know, bad on the salt content) (2 pt)

2 Tbsp cool whip and fruit (1 pt)

popcorn with melted butter (5 pts... this usually shows up when I have a lot of points left at the end of the day)

Tea and one girl scout lemonade cookie (2 points)

5 oz Orange Leaf pineapple frozen yogurt (3 points)

braised kale with onions, mushrooms and garlic (1 point)

Yummy ideas!

Oh, I totally blew my points today.  I made myself a beautiful salad, and for my skinny minnies (kids!) I made fattucini alfredo.  Well, I couldn't resist.  I ate some, and some more.  Do you know how many points 1 cup of fettucini is?  17!!!!!!!!  Arggggg!!!!!

edited to add:  Wait a minute.  Doesn't 17 points for a cup seem really, really high??  Can it really be that much??

I use this site for quickly referencing points:

http://quiddity.cc/rachel/diet/wwfoods.htm#A

And yes, fettucini alfredo has a lot of  points.   The recipe I found had 6 T of butter, a cup of heavy cream, and a cup of parm cheese.  That's a whole lot of calories.   Your homemade version may have less points if you went lighter on any of the butter or cheese.

There are some foods I just have to skip entirely or save them for really special occasions.  And can I say, damn!   That sounds like an awesomely delicious meal!   My kids would flip if I served them that.  They made do with brown rice and eggs last night.  Poor buggers.

Yesterday was another good day.  I was a little more hungry than usual, but I tracked every point and did just fine with a total of 38.  And I took a 3 mile walk.  A couple more weeks of walking and I think my post partum hips might be ready for a little light jogging.

And I dug through my freezer for more snack ideas and found a couple of bags of edamame.  A big bowl (1/3) of the bag is only 2 points and was really satisfying.  That and a light beer and I thought I was in heaven for only 4 points.

Breakfast this morning for 5 points!

This was breakfast this morning... Only 5 points!!! 1 banana, 1 kiwi, braised kale, 2 eggs scrambled. Yum!

Oh Dimitrizmom!   Lovely breakfast.  So healthy!

Did decently today.  37 points, no exercise.  I have been home with a sick child and cranky baby.  The dishes are washed and the kitchen is closed for the night.  I have been making a point of doing the dishes, wiping the counters and turing off the kitchen lights.  It gives everyone a clear signal that we are done eating for the night.

Love the closed kitchen signal!  :)
