I have to recommend www.skinnytaste.com for recipes.  I planned a whole month's worth of dinners just using that site...

Great site!   Thank you so much.  I will definitely dip into that soon.

Day 2

Yesterday went well.  I was busy and out of the house for most of the day, so it was easy to keep from snacking.  Today I am home with a sick kid, so I need to be more mindful.

B -- oatmeal, banana, walnuts, tea (7)

L -- rice, beans, veggies, tea (9)

S -- orange, almonds, tea (5)

S -- spelt toast, peanut butter (5)

D -- split pea soup, spinach, tofu, oil, beer (10)

Exercise -- hope to get out for a walk later -- didn't happen

Total of 36 and I was hungry for every point.  Baby has been sick and is nursing a ton.  I am not hungry now, just overly tired and craving sugar.

Hi Ruthiegirl - I'm on D2, too!

I had a good day yesterday, too.  I actually wasn't very hungry.

Today is:
B: Coffee, tbsp cream, plain greek yogurt w/ bluberries and walnuts

L: Healthy choice thing I can heat up at work

D: salisbury steak w/ mushroom gravy and green beans

S: strawberries

I have 5 points left to play with, but I'm going to the ballet w/ my mom tomorrow and we're having dinner out.

I teach ballet classes today for 45 min and will probably take the dogs for a walk later on.

Total points - 41/40

I think I may go over points today. Is 1 cup of beef chili with black beans and corn really 9 points?! yikes.gif I'm still on a learning curve, but that's ok.

Yes -- corn has points!!!  That got me in the beginning, too!

I'm freaking STARVING today.  Ugh.  I hate when I am counting the minutes until my next meal.  Makes me grumpy.

That would make me grumpy too!  Do you have any snacks?  Fruit?  Anything???  If I'm hungry I eat,  I can't afford to be grumpy!!!

Post your food log -- maybe we can help you budget better or something.  Hugs!!

Eat some fruit! Quick! (I know the feeling).

Do you like turkey?  A cup of turkey chili is only 3 points and might be a good substitute.  I always have a hard time eating red meat while losing weight.  It is rich food and I like to eat big potions.  I can easily eat 2 or 3 cups chili and that would blow a day's worth of points.

Cookies get me every time.  I love them more than any other treat and just can't have them in the house.  Ds's birthday is today and I made cupcakes for him and was not tempted to even taste them.  Cupcakes hold no appeal, but cookies!   I could eat a dozen.    redface.gif

Feeling better this morning.  Our little one is feeling better too and we got a decent night's sleep last night.  I hate being so overly tired.  I could feel my body craving sugar last night, it was all I could think about.  I had a nice mug of tea and went to bed which was totally the right thing to do, but took a huge amount of willpower to pull off.

Day 3:

B -- oatmeal, walnuts, apple, tea (6)

L -- brown rice, egg, split pea soup, spinach, tea (11)

S -- orange, toast, peanut butter, tea (7)

D -- whole wheat pasta, sauce, cheese, beer (12)

Total -- 36

Exercise -- 3 mile walk

Or even better, vegetarian chili.  A cup of it is about 5 points, so you could easily have 2 cups and be full!  I think I'll make chili for dinner tonight.  Yum.

I could eat at LEAST a dozen.  Each cookie was 2 points, and I know I snarfed like 6 cookies.  Ugh!  I shouldn't buy them either!
