Post partum wrapping

Hi Ladies, I was hoping to get some feedback about these "wrapping products". I wore a postpartum belt with my last birth, and I liked the results. I, of course gave it away, because we were not going to have more children. Three weeks later we were pregnant. Anyway I am in the market for a new one, but I don't want to waste money on a fantasy product.The medical one I bought was $35. I see this one for hips http://www.shrinkxhips.com/how-it-works#proven which is a major concern. I have lower back issues I am told are due to relaxins effect on my frame. Then there is the atlas http://myatlasband.com/ which says it is does abs and hips, it's also twice the price.

If you are using something like this, or are going to, let me know what you think. TIA

Hi Tri! Is this similar to the Belly Bandit product? I used them with DS, and I felt that it helped my Ab. muscles "remember" their shape a bit quicker. It also felt nice and supportive. :)

HI, yes I think that is the same thing. Did that slide or roll much?

The Belly Bandit is definitely thick, but I don't ever remember it sliding. I suppose it maybe rolled a little, in terms of gathering when you sit down, but I think getting the right size is important in that aspect.

I did lying-in (DH is wonderful!) for the 15 days, and wore mine (S) the entire time except while in the shower. It was awesome. I've heard about people using lots of shea butter and then wrapping which I'm going to do this time--sounds nice. Once I was up and about, and my waist began to take shape, I went down a size. This I did at home until about 6 weeks.

Personally, I didn't wear it out of the house very much but it is great to wear during post-partum walking, for instance. I think people do wear theirs under clothing on errands it just depends.

I used the Belly Bandit last time. I really liked how comfortable it was, and I didnt find that it rolled or slid around. I didnt sleep in mine, so I just wore it while I was up and dressed.

I like the look of the Atlas support a lot, but it looks sort of complicated!  Wish I could play with one in person.

Last pg (c-section) I used the medela post partum support, and it was alright.  Not great, but not pricey either. I don't know that it helped my abs, but it gave me enough support to walk around the hospital within a day of my DD's NICU transfer, so that helped. The velcro drove me crazy, but they all seem to be velcro closure.  I think I might try the next size down this time around.

Interesting thread!  My mother in law chases me down with a girdle after every baby.. "You need to wear your faja or you'll be flabby forever!!".  I had one from the hospital last time around because I had a c/s and it really helped with the support.  In retrospect I'dve sewn a flannel cover for it or something.. that thing was itchy!    It did help a lot.

I didn't wear one the first time around, but then again, I was 17 and I think my body had a good idea as far as how to put itself back together correctly :)

I'm looking into it this time.. great thread!

So I decided on the Bengkung Roda. I love the price and feel like it has the best chance of delivering the proposed benefits. I found the info on this site tobe really helpful.

http://www.tummytruss.com/faqs.html It is the same thing as the Bengkung, being marketed in Australia. If any mama's come across this, and you are using one of these, could you please let us know how it's going. TIA
