We're in kind of the same boat- running into a lot of unexpected expenses that are really clearing our account out pretty quickly and also trying to prepare for my leave of absence from work since I'm the income in our house. I've also got to figure out a way to get work clothes (business casual) into the deal. I don't have anything to offer, but I thought I'd at least sympathize with you. I'm just going to try to mod the clothes I have to last as long as I can, and try to search around at thrift stores. Someone had posted that the Be Band from Target works pretty well with pants so I'm going to try to get by with that and tights/leggings with long shirts and some dresses that I think I can get to work for a while- for example, I have a couple with ties that were lower on the waist. Swapped out a ribbon from another shirt and tied it under my breasts- made a really cute maternity look! I was also surprised with how many shirts I have that will work as maternity shirts. Seems that look is the most flattering for me when I'm not pregnant, too!
ETA: also... what about thrift stores? Even when we have extra money, I have a hard time shelling out that kind of money for things I'll only wear for a month or two. I'm a cheapskate.
