Ugh, fell down! « Back to Group Discussions

I just fell down my back door steps pretty hard. Landed on my butt. I started spotting right after. It's just pink right now, I hope it stays that way. Could a fall like that cause a miscarriage? Ugh :(

I'm not positive, but I think you're safe. try not to think about it too much! how is your butt feeling? getting a bruise yet?

Ouch. I'm so sorry. And I'm more sorry that you have cause to worry. Due to the increased blood flow, the capillaries in the cervix are really delicate in early pregnancy. That's why so many women report spotting after intercourse. So it stands to reason that a hard fall might cause one of them to burst.  Still I'd be on guard.

Thanks Ladies, that's making me feel a little better! I do spot after intercourse too, so hopefully it's just that.

I'm pretty sure I'm getting a good bruise, it really hurts to sit!

i would say just try to relax and put your feet up a for the night to be safe and you should be just fine, other then the bruised bottom, ouch :/

you know, i had a hard fall on the ice today and landed right on my butt.  I had a bit of spotting right after it too!  I'm not seeing anything on the TP anymore now about 3 hours later...

I know the feeling. I fell down the stairs a few days ago and since I was holding my toddler, my instinct was to protect her instead of myself and my body took a beating. My legs ended up bruised and cut but mostly it was emotional, I was panicked for the rest of the day and all the rest. It's scary knowing your carrying a life but it is so little and precious!

I am still spotting every day... Not much, only when I wipe and not every time. Usually 1-2 times a day, but it still worries me. 1.5 week until I go to my first dr. appointment. I hope it will be good news.

If you are still spotting I would cal your Dr and see if they want you to come in sooner.  I know that its Saturday now, but I would call first thing on Monday and explain the situation and see if they want to see you before your appointment.  Spotting can sometimes be OK, but sometimes it means that you need to be seen.  Good luck.  I hope that everything is OK.
