congested baby

ds (2 1/2 months) always has snot and sounds congested.  I suction out his nose regularly and it helps somewhat.  I also recently got some saline spray.  I have brought it up with his dr and she said young babies sometimes sound like that ecause their nasal passages are tiny.  She listened to his lungs and they sounded just fine.  I don't know, I still might not be convinced.  Has anyone else experienced this or heard about this?  I am mostly worried because dp has really bad ahsma and has since childhood.  Is there anything else I should do besides squirt and suction if he still sounds that way?  should I get a 2nd opinion?  I love his dr she is just kind of laid back and although most of the time I really like this about her because not everything needs to be treated with modern medicine.

Have you tried a humidifer? That'll help clean the air.
