Desert, good luck with work. So I am lucky that I will be out of school on 05/17. HOWEVER, I'm going to be due back at work the last week of July, 9 months pregnant. And we have an outdoor campus. omg, az.

I'm just here to throw a small fit. I had to work 11 hours today and now I am 100% sure I have a cold. It sucks. I am asthmatic and I have to be sure it doesn't develop into any kind of respiratory infection. I was already on antibiotics in week 5 after my "conception cold" did just that.. Sigh.

Whoa Desert! Sending you some of my energy reserves - hope they help!

Thanks Veritas. I envy those with 1 or 2 symptoms too.

Aww boots - I know how you feel. Every time I have a cold it moves to my chest and turns into an upper respiratory infection - leaving me on a Z pack, daily advair and albuterol for 2-3 weeks. I PRAY I don't catch a cold during this pregnancy. I am sending you some GET WELL SOON vibes right now!!!

AFM - I am pretty sure I just experienced THEE MOST UNSEXY SIDE of PREGNANCY so far. So - because I'm on this antibiotic - my nausea is back FULL FORCE this week - 24/7 nausea. So - every time I take my meds and vitamins I have the urge to vomit. I try to trick my body - take with milk, slide back (without throwing my head back), take really slow, one at a time, minutes in between ,etc. Well - I was about to go to bed - so I wanted to take my meds right away. WELL... about 5 minutes later I knew the vomit was coming.. I even had to RUN to the bathroom. As I'm standing over the toilet and giving it my BEST orange and chunky concoction - I realize there is blood dripping into the mix. Yes - I am also having a nosebleed at the same time. So I'm trying to stuff cold papertowel into my nose, get a cold rag for the back of my neck - all while vomiting and trying not to get blood all over our WHITE bathroom. Get this - all this gagging also prevents me from being able to hold my bladder. YES - I am actually vomiting, bleeding and peeing at the same time. WOOO HOOO PREGNANCY!

I'm drinking my first cup of coffee since November 16th. I figure that I deserve it after the night I had. I already see this won't be a habit though.. coffee doesn't make me happy like it used to. That first sip was AWESOME.. and now - I'm kinda over it by sip 5. Does that mean that my dear Cabernet will suffer the same fate once I can consume alcohol again? SAY IT AIN'T SO!!!!

Thebyr, sorry you had such a horrible night!  It sounds kind of funny though (obviously not while you were going through it, of course).  It'll be a good story to emotionally blackmail the kid with later.

Is anyone needing a pregnancy pillow yet?  I'm looking around since I was up all night with SI joint/pelvic pain AND round ligament pain and then this weird pain under my rib.  I just could not find a comfortable position other than flat on my back (which of course made me have to pee and made me feel like I was cutting off oxygen to the baby).  Argh!  I'm looking at a few, but the cheaper ones don't seem to hold up well.  Is anyone else having these problems?  I'm at almost 13 weeks, so this seems a little early to be so uncomfortable.

Oh, Thebyr, you poor thing! It sounds intense, but I hope it was brief. I think I know why I feel nauseated lately, since we're on the same antibiotics. I was wondering why nausea came back. I guess I just have an iron stomach (or my emetophobia is just that powerful).

Thebyr, that made me so sad to read! I am sorry to hear that happened.  This has not been an easy pregnancy for you so far.  Sending healing vibes to you, hope that doesn't happen again.  Funny about you and coffee.  I used to love very strong black tea and took a sip earlier this week from one of my favorite tea places and it just wasn't the same.  I found myself wanting water instead.

LilyTiger, Sorry to hear you are already having that type of pain.  A friend of mine had that and said the chiro was helpful for her at least.  I am using a pregnancy type pillow.  I got it after surgery and I love it! I got it off of amazon so it was a bit more economical and it had great reviews.

lol Lily- I certainly laughed about it afterwards.. I must have looked a hot mess. The dog just ignored me and the hubs wasn't home. Somehow he already knew what the story was going to be when I started off with - "Just had the most unsexy preggy lady thing happen to me."

I most certainly need the preggy pillow already too - I use a pillow between my legs to lay around the house and in the bed.

Yes Andaluza - it came back FULL force this week.. and I was feeling SO much better before - it MUST be the amoxicilin. I only have to take it through Sunday - I'm hoping for relief come Monday.

Yes Sol - is was so disappointing. All these months only to take a few sips and have trouble finishing the half-cup. Pretty sure I won't be having much throughout the pregnancy so I guess the less that 200mg a day will NOT be a problem AT ALL. lol

Thebyr, I swear, every time I think I've got it bad, you've got it worse! You are so due for a break, woman! Maybe probiotics after the antibiotics are done to help put things back in order? They seem to be helping me a bit with some of my digestive issues.

It is always the z-pack with me, too! I am sick of it. I went through a bad year last year where I didn't go to my regular doc and didn't have a lung doc and a lot of doctors at clinics refused to give me antibiotics and I got sicker and sicker. One of them called me an "antibiotic seeker." I've got your seeker right here, lady. I was so tired I slept all day and didn't go to the doctor today. Hopefully maybe this time I can make it without, or I'll have to get into my pulmo after work next week. I don't feel like people understand how serious colds can get for asthmatics.

Lily, I've been sleeping with a lofty pillow under my lower tummy for weeks. Sometimes I get a second one for between my knees. I sort of want a pregnancy pillow too but there are so many and they are expensive and I don't know which would be best. I think it was the snoogie one or something that showed how it could also be used to breastfeed, I thought that was interesting.

Sol, which pillow do you have?

Thebyr, you sweet thing.  That totally stinks.  But you'll look back on your pregnancy days and...well, cringe.  LOL.  Were you standing up and leaning over?  I noticed the other day when I threw up that I didnt wet my pants when I was leaning over. I dont know.

Speaking of throwing up.  Anyone else gag themselves when they COUGH and ahve to throw up?  that's one thing that's the same in every pregnancy.  I try to avoid coughing.  I was having breakfast in bed with my birthday girl and had to cough, couldnt help it.  Ran to the bathroom....she was really calm cause we read the baby book every day.

I also think I've pinned down the source of my migraines.  I ALWAYS get one when I dont use a  nasal strip.  I have a KILLER one today. First time in 3 days I didnt use one.  I have little migraines but they are nothing like this.  AND I always wake up with at least a small one after naps.

I tried a cream like Icy Hot, only a Chinese one.  It REALLY REALLY helps with a minor headache/migraine.

I made a thread for pregnancy/nursing pillows! I reviewed the Boppy Prenatal Sleep Wedge there (short review: only $15, probably won't be big enough later on but perfect for now, overall thumbs up)

Also, Thebyr, I am sorry you're having such a crummy week!

I'm 12 weeks today! And my ultrasound is on Monday... I can't wait to see the fetus again so I can finally feel safe telling people!
