Throughout infancy, DS2 nursed only for nutrition ... not for comfort, not to go to sleep, only when he was hungry.  I had to completely rediscover how to parent and calm an infant.  This continued until about 18 months when he suddenly switched to wanting to nurse All. The. Time.  He's now 2 1/2 (and he nurses more than he did as a newborn!) and no amount of distraction works and I'm getting to the point where nursing him in public is uncomfortable (he'll hang out for 30 minutes if I don't cut him off).  When I try to distract him it may work for 1-2 minutes, but never through a grocery trip or a church service or even if I'm at the check-out and we'll be in the car in a few minutes.  He screams for "na-nas" until he gets his "na-nas."  I'm certain that his persistence will serve him well in life, but right now it's downright annoying.  DS1 nursed all the time, but he was easily distracted at this age, so this is completely new territory for me.  Any ideas?  BTDT?
