Oh, g'wan (= go on), open it!

I got a box from Lazuli... and being me (and given the fact that everyone said "what? we have to WAIT to open them all together?!" when I asked), I opened it too! A lovely pair of earrings with purple stones (purple! How ever did you know? ), a little red east-Indian looking elephant with a bell, some cute buttons, a silk jewelry pouch - at least that's what I'd call it - and a HEDGEHOG that looks like it's supposed to be climbing into a pot, so that is where I perched it with my jade plant! All in a lovely box. THANK YOU!!!

That was a really risky one, since you indicated you would if anyone gave you anything Bush 04, but I thought I'd take the chance

And as for the Wellstone one... well, we're still in mourning, what can I say... sigh

Glad you liked it

Lynsey - I just happened to see that book the last time I was at my favorite used place, so I'm really not sure if its any good or not. Don't blame me if its icky!!! Plus, I haven't answered you about the cat hat pattern, cause I realized that it is in the Hallmark magazine I sent you. That mag is kind of cheesy, but I wept in the store as I read the article about the best gifts mothers had ever received. Not like I'm hormonal or anything.....

Got my package from Savannah (msrog) today!
LOVE it!

* big bottle of Burts Bees Apricot oil (I ran out a couple weeks back, and can't WAIT to take a warm shower and rub it into my baby belly!)

* packs of Trident original gum, to stave off the gagging!

* packs of cute barrettes, gonna put some in tomorrow!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

I'm working hard on getting your package together, msrog!
It should go out by Friday!

Oooh, I forgot about the little bottle of my favorite scented lotion, Bath and Body Works cucumber melon!

Glad you liked 'em, Danielle! I can't believe how quickly the package got to you. I waited too long to put it together to throw in little extras like some of the other gals... =O) In fact, I'm not much of a shopper, so this little project really got me out of my normal zone!

Happy days to you all.

I got my package from Sarah-chumani yesterday! Thank you sooooo much! I LOVE it! I got:

knitted baby booties - did you make these?
lavender lotion
lavender and peppermint soaps
mineral bath salts - lavender
fruit and peppermint lip balms
2 back issues of Mothering that I didn't have (how did you know?)

All the products are from a cool little company in Utah, right up my alley!

This was such fun! I'm glad we're gonna do a thrid tri swap too!
Sheryl- I am so glad the pkg finally arrived!!
The booties are from a 91 yr old lady up the street that gave me 20! pairs of
baby booties when she found out that I am a lactation advisor and use my own $ to give out bf friendly gift packets to new moms. She is so neat! Had all her kids at home and nursed til they were done (2-3 yrs each). I get the mothering back issues bulk, a box of 40 for shipping to give out in the bf packets too.

I hope the lotion and soap helps with your dry skin. I don't have to use lotion now that my skin is used to the real soap.

This has been such a fun swap! My oldest dd bumped her forehead and was so pleased to be the first to use the healing salve Sheryl sent. I can't wait to do it again!

Have a great day!

Meredith thank you so much for all the lovely gifts you sent!
Opening it was so fun, there just kept being more and more items to play with! The skirts are so lovely, especially the turqoise patchwork one! I took the elastic out of the waist band so I can start wearing it right away, I couldn't wait till after baby! and I'm sure the other one can be easily shortened, it has such a comfortable waist in it, I bet I'll be wearing it to the very end!
The picture frames are so lovely, now I just need to pick the pictures to put in them..... hummm how long till i get around to that? sometimes i am such a slacker!
and those yummy smelling bath products..... UMMMMMM!

I especially wanted to thank you for including that lovely poem.... It brought tears to my eyes. I am hoping to sing during labor, it's a technique for handling pain and relaxing, that really appeals to me. the poem made me think about that hope for my labor and inspired me to follow through on it.

Thanks again, Greenbeing for all the thoughtful gifts you sent!

This was so much fun!!!!
Anna Banana

P.S. Must shamefacedly admit that I just mailed out my package to Caroline today. so, anyone who felt like a slacker.... go ahead and feel superior! And I WORK in a mailroom!!! Caroline thanks for being so understanding. It should arrive by Wednesday.... enjoy!

Oh Anna, you are not a slacker!! Just pregnant! Get used to it, it only gets worse!!!!

Danielle, I got my package just now!!!!!!!!!! Yippppeeeee!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited. You really outdid yourself. I did NOT think I would be able to get a belly cast kit, since this was a $20 swap and all the ones I saw were $35! You're AWESOME!

Not only that, you still threw in gobs of other fantastic stuff -- big jar of cucumber melon body scrub (mmmmmmm), my fave Trident Fire sugarless gum (ds and I are chewing a piece right now!), just enough bubble bath, bath salts, and TWO deliciously smelling soaps!!!! I am a princess.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! And I loved your tips on even better belly casting results. Can you post pictures of yours on our Yahoo board, so I can see? Also, I assume my helper will just open the rolls of gauze and dip each in water? I had thought there would be some vat of icky goo you dipped plain gauze into, like my elementary days dipping strips of newspaper into plaster goo.

Did you put your finished casts up on the walls? I still don't know for sure what I'll do with mine; I just knew I wanted to do it! My family will think I've gone berserk; they already think I'm weird and self-centered wanting to take monthly belly shots and filming the births. Whatever.

Thanks again, you made my day!

Savannah,

I know you werent talking to me, but wanted to tell you that I hung my belly cast from Paityn up on her bedroom wall with fishing wire poked in 4 places on the cast - 2 on each side where my collarbone is and 2 kindof under my armpits. My belly cast has a little bit of my thighs all the way up to a bit of neck, shoulders and a few inches of each arm. Its pretty!

We just dipped the guaze into water quickly then spread it on me. It is not messy unless water and that stuff drips off the guaze. Use a dropcloth on the floor around you and to sit on. We ruined several nice towels because I was sitting on one.

So, those are my tips if you needed more. Have fun with it!

Savannah-

Glad you liked your gifts!
I used to make belly casts for my clients when I was a doula, so it was easy for me to get the stuff together and know what to get!
If you go to http://www.bellycast.com/ and click on their gallery, then go to the 10th, 11th, and 12th picture, that is my belly cast of Lucy (3 years ago!)...my friend did it for me, and it was my first foray into belly casting, so it's not as nice structurally as the ones I do for others now, but I love it! It has the lyrics to "You are my Sunshine" written out in a circle on the tummy in case you were wondering what it said. The name Lucia means "light", so I thought it was appropriate, plus it's a song I sing to the kids all the time.
Oh, and the first pic of me, hubby and kids is horrible! I'm much cuter in person!

And yep, the rolls are coated already, so all you have to do is cut them into the lengths I suggested and dip them in water!

I liked the picture of all of you, what a nice touch! And a great idea to write the words to the song on there in the shape of the sun. I'm amazed they fit! Ooooh, I can't wait. When do you usually do them (yourself and those you helped as a doula)?
