Tips or advice for tonsil and adenoid removal for child

Hi everyone, new poster to this area. My almost 5 year old daughter is having her tonsils and adenoids removed Feb 1st. I am really nervous about the whole thing, but really hoping it will help her. She has sleep apnea and is constantly over tired. Even with 14 hours of sleep a night. Plus snoring and lots of ear infections etc...

I was just wondering if any of you have advice for me. Food ideas/ anything I can do to help speed recovery or help her feel better quicker. Any tips will be a lot of help.

TIA!

She will get some kind of pain medication, my ds got tylenol 3.  What helped him the most was giving it to him every 4 hours (we could give it to him every 4-6)  this kept him comfortable enough to drink.  I know of at least 3 kiddos who didn't drink due to pain and wound up back in the hospital.  He had them out on Thursday and I kept at it until Sunday morning, then I did every 6 (or as needed) until Monday morning then as needed.  I think once when he got home from school on Tuesday since he went to school drug free.  And then it was for his ears which can also happen, not his throat.

ok thank you! I will make sure to keep up on the medicine. They did mention to me that dehydration is a big concern, I will make sure she continues to drink.
