I'm 15 dpo and have been testing since 10 dpo...all bfn until this morning and it was a VERY faint line. I have some symptoms such as: bbs hurt, excessive cm, dizzy spells, nausea, back ache, cramps around 12dpo-14 dpo. I drink alot of water everyday and i wonder if thats diluting the hcg levels in my urine. I just had a late miscarriage due to imcompetent cervix last june, so i don't wanna get my hopes up if i'm not pregg. Need advice!!!!!!! Should i test again or what?

Welcome to MDC!!

If it's not a total squinter or greyish in color then, a line is a line! Congrats! How long is your average LP? What test did you use? I would absolutely test again to confirm. Go get a First Response Early Response and a digi (pretty much any brand). Then test with FMU and the FRER tomorrow. If you get a faint positive again post a pic! Then test with the digi the next morning to confirm. Or go straight for the digi, but I'd wait another day since some digis are less sensitive and more expensive. Keep us posted!

Do you chart your temps? Can you share your chart? If not, how did you confirm O? I'm wondering if your O day might be in question since it's not common to get inaccurate HPT results at 16DPO. It's possible one of the 2 tests was faulty, though this is not common. Was the line greyish, show up outside the time limit, or really really really faint? The most common cause of a "false positive" is user misinterpretation. With the cheaper tests evaps tend to be more common. Otherwise, later than thought O would be the most likely explanation for late AF with a BFN, but other possibilities include:
- late implantation with a low hCG producing embryo
- a chemical pregnancy (hCG was high enough yesterday to test positive, but has now fallen below the threshold of the test and AF will come within a few days)
- your body does not metabolize hCG quickly into your urine
- corpus luteum cyst (not common, but it is thought that every woman will experience one at some point)

I two have had losses, I have had three, so all along I've been thinking this was not going to work out. And then they called and said 858 and I made them repeat it like 8 times! So, a faint positive, then a negative, CAN become a real positive!! I also had it become a chemical pregnancy, so I certainly understand your hesitation!
well, to update everyone....i don't chart...not sure how. I went to the doctor and got a BFN this past Friday and still no af. Since, I still haven't started and I have a lot of signs they are retesting me this coming Friday with another urine test (don't know why not a blood test) and if another bfn and no af by then they're gonna do the blood test. I'm starting to feel more nauseaus these days and more of a sense of smell to stinky things so i dunno if thats even more signs of preggo. Please let me know if anyone else had these problem. and thanks mackinnon for sharing ur story, maybe thats whats going on with me.

Sorry you still don't have answers! There's really no reason to go to the doctor for a urine test. I would just test at home and if you get a positive, then go in for the blood test. Get yourself a better test like FRER. If AF arrives, well, then you know your answer, but if it still has not come in a week and you're still getting BFN's and increasing symptoms (though symptoms are not always a very reliable way to determine pregnancy), then I would go in and insist on a blood test. You might be one of these women that "fails" HPT's.
