Hi everyone, Today I received a call back from the Dr's office about my son's hemoglobin levels. I was told that it's 8.8. His ferritin and iron seems to be fine though. He's been on ferinsol drops 1.5 2x's a day. They are unsure why his red blood cells are producing so slowly. When he first got this tested at 9 months it was around the same. He said the iron drops are really not helping bring his levels up. And i'm wondering what I could do to help him. They want to take more tests in a month. I am anemic and am taking metanix thats a multi B vitamin and i'm wondering since i'm low, my dad has low iron and on a supplement and my grandmother had low iron and was anemic could it just be passed on from generation to generation? And does low hemaglobin mean low iron? I've done a lot of research and most websites say that it is. They also say that in infants 6 months up to kids that are 9 years of age the range for hemoglobin levels are 10.3 - 13 I believe but not totally sure. At this point i'm just hoping there is some type of supplement that I can give him to get those levels back up. Does anyone have any advice or have toddlers that are going through things like this? Any suggestions or help would be great. :-)Â
