Trimesters and Weight Gains/Losses - Page 9

Looks like I need to make some changes this week.  I weighed myself at the chiropractor's office yesterday, and I was up 2.5 lbs from the week before, which is not fitting the pace I want.  I know we're supposed to start gaining more, and I didn't gain the week before that, so it's not a huge deal.  I'm just going to make a point to watch my eating this week.  Also I need to start doing videos again.  I was walking every day while it was nice, but that was short lived and we are having a real Michigan spring now, so I have to accept that outside will have to wait and make it work inside.

I noticed my weight jumps overnight and then I tend to not gain for the rest of the week.. so I might gain 2-4lbs in 24hours but then the rest of the week it stays pretty much the same. I weighed myself this morning and I am still up 15lbs (at 22w?) ..

Im hoping to gain between 30-40lbs but not sure how realistic that is seeing I am entering the high growth stage...  lurk.gif

Is that the same scale you used the week before? And the same time of day? Those can make a big difference!

Agreed. The scales can be totally different. My doctors vs my FILs vs the hospital ultrasound department are all different by +/- 7 lbs.. so I try to just go off one as a result.

Oh, yes, same one.  I know the difference between the OB office and chiro office and account for that, but this was a straight week to week, same scale same time.  It's not surprising, seeing as how I've overdone it with the pop this week (and the pizza, ice cream, and pasta), and haven't been doing much activity wise.

I noticed the less active I am, the less weight I tend to gain during pregnancy, no idea why this is.. . but can't say the same is true for eating pizza innocent.gif

Well, I gained two pounds last week after not gaining for over a month.  I'm at 10 pounds at 22 weeks.  I'm feeling ok about that, even though most of those two pounds was Reese's PB cups and chocolate almond custard.  Whoops!  Baby needed some sweets!

I think mine was mostly chocolate cake and ice cream last weekend lilytiger :)

I want a Reece's peanut butter cup!!! Errrr, no... and Reece's peanut butter EGG. More peanut butter in those bad boys. Sheepish.gif

I want a peanut butter egg too!  I love all the holiday Reese's but the big egg is my favorite.  I'm getting one, one way or another.  I talked myself out of Snickers eggs because I wasn't paying $3 for a pack of six.

Yep, I don't even care for Reese's Cups that much, but give me ANY holiday Reese's....

Went on a "short" grocery trip today (just needing staples for the next 3 days as we're leaving town on Friday).... and somehow my purchase included a box of Hagen Daz pops, a gallon of Breyers Dulce de Leche, a bag of Oreo cookies, and a small bag of Cadbury Mini Eggs.... whaaat!!

In a weird way, Im sort of happy we don't have a freezer during pregnancy. . . I would be eating ice cream 24/7 if we had a place to store it.. right now if I want anything that can 'melt' I have to walk to the store, buy it and then eat it all in one sitting .. so usually I end up not- but when I do, well.. its a ton of ice cream eyesroll.gif

Omg, I'm cracking up ladies!! NewMumJoy... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... sounds like one of my grocery trips a month or so back when I couldn't decide what I wanted to eat and just bought the world. Lol!

ithappened: Good thing for you with the no freezer. Currently in mine I have ice pops, ice cream, frozen girl scout cookies, and my real favorite... the all fruit strawberry ice pops? Yummmm...

Although... I really haven't been eating all that many sweets to tell you the truth... makes me wonder HOW exactly I went from a 5 lb weight gain to a 8.5 lb gain in a week and a half?? Hmmm.

I partially blame my buying/eating binge on my DH being out of town this week.... as no one is here to distract or make me feel guilty about it (except me!) and I know it'll be be gone by the time he gets back!  2whistle.gif

newmumjoy Ive been having binging episodes lately mostly if not always at night and usually related to my anxiety/stress of whatever is currently going on and out of my total and utter control.

I'm up to 20lb gain now at 26 weeks.. with DS I was up only about 15lbs by now, I was hoping to stay around 30lbs for the pregnancy but realizing that's unlikely due to the rapid fetal growth from here on out..

sort of scared its all in my butt right now, no way its all baby/fluids.. right?

I have to be retaining some water, or have a crazy amount of fluid.  My belly measured 27 at my 24 week appointment, and last week I evidently gained another 3 lbs.  This with making a point to work out 4 days of the week and really trying to watch my food intake.  Something else has to be going on, or else I'm going to get discouraged and lose it.

It looks like I gained 13 pounds so far, but it is hard to tell because I now have to use a different scale since we've moved.  I weighed myself at the gym and when it said 13 for 20-21 weeks I got a little upset, mostly because that is the highest number I've ever seen on the scale.  Then I was doing Olympic presses (I think that is what they're called, barbell above my head) my belly stuck out and B made some cute little comment about it sticking out under my shirt and I started crying....in the gym. :/ Pregnancy hormones are so fun! Luckily, I'm still pretty even-keeled for the most part.
