Gained 35 lbs exactly for the pregnancy.

I gained 25 pounds total, all of which was gone by the end of the first week.  So whatever wasn't baby and placenta was apparently water.  My ankles came back, finally.  I'm pretty happy with how well things went.  Seeing as I was somewhat overweight to begin with, it was important to me to not gain a ton of fat.  I'm hoping to lose 10 lbs over the next six months or so and I'll be at a healthy weight.  Nursing is already helping with that.

I gained 27 total, and had lost 10 pounds at 3 days out.  I'm two weeks out now, and I don't know how much I weigh, but I can fit into some of my prepreg pants, but only my pants that were bigger before. I'm looking forward to when I can get back to exercising.

I was up and down at the end, gaining and losing each week, but at my last weigh in my total was 33 lbs. I lost 20 the first week and lately I am hovering around 8-10 lbs left. We went for a walk today and it felt good, almost back to normal. If my folks weren't here I'd probably try to do a video like physique 57. The binding has been going fine, too, even if there are days that I don't do it at all.

Andaluza, that happened to me too.  Lost a ton right off the bat, the week of the birth.  Now still losing but it has slowed down.  I get very hungry while BF and stash tons of foods right by my bed so I can eat anytime.

I gained 38 total.  About two weeks postpartum I'd dropped 18.  I haven't checked recently.  Seeing as how the kid was 13.5 on his own you'd think I'd lose more than that just from birth.  I'm being a slob during this early period but I think I may look into something structured like Weight Watchers.  I need to make some serious changes and it's cheaper than therapy.  I'd really like to be able to ride roller coasters again by next summer.

I gained 36 total, and lost 18 after giving birth - 8lbs of that was baby.  I haven't weighed myself in a week (he turns 2 weeks tomorrow), so I'm not sure where I'm at, but this morning I put on some pre-pregnancy shorts and they feel like they fit the same way now that they did pre-baby, so that feels good.  We're about to go for a walk together which will be my first "exercise" since giving birth, and I am WAY too excited about this!

LilyTiger - gone in the first week, that's amazing!!!

I gained 36 lbs total, and I haven't been weighed yet since the birth.  I left the hospital still looking 9 months pregnant (I had a lot of post surgery swelling).  The tummy has been shrinking every day, but I still look pregnant now at 4wks PP and have to wear maternity jeans if I go out.  I have a serious muffin top over my incision.  Still trying to be patient w/my body though, as I've been told to not even begin exercising until 6 wks PP after a c-section.

Holy crow to all of you who lost it all in the first week or two!  Whoa... I WISH!! :)  I gained about 30 pounds total and I haven't weighed myself in a couple of weeks, but I KNOW I've got at least 15-20 still to lose.  I'll be six weeks pp this Thursday.  I lost about 12 pounds from the birth and it's been very slow going since then.  This seems pretty normal for me - but oh, I wish I were one of those that dropped it all in the first few weeks.

I just got into my first pair of pp jeans this week which I'll count as a small victory - I own them two sizes up from my normal size on down.  Pre-pregnancy jeans/pants won't fit until at least 4-6 months post-birth for me - if my first two times doing this are any indication.

I always get a case of the 'post-partum uglies' as I like to call them - that point at about 2 months pp when I'm still overweight, my hair is falling out and I usually have a breakout as my hormones are shifting back.  Really pleasant, not.  I have to daily remind myself to be patient and nice to myself, because it's frustrating.

I am back to running though - I started about a week ago and although it's tough dragging the extra weight around, it's really good to get out on my own and move my body.  I'm back to a decent sit up regimen, but my lower abs apparently haven't gotten the memo.  They are pretty sore!

Ah, recovery!!! Good thing these little babes are totally worth it!

Penny - I hope you enjoyed your walk!!

Holy crap, LilyTiger. I'm jealous! That's soooo awesome!!

I gained 40 lbs Sheepish.gif, and I just weighed myself yesterday at 9 days post partum and I'm down 23 lbs. Not even sure how that's possible, but I'm not complaining. I don't think I realized just how much water I retained until I looked at my legs the past couple of days and saw how boney my feet and ankles normally really are! I gained water weight in the oddest places... like behind my knees and right above that behind my knees. Sooooooooooo weird??

I gained a total of 30 pounds and was down 15 pounds right after birth. By three weeks postpartum, I had 7 more to go! I haven't weighed myself yet today (4 weeks pp), but I'm pretty sure I've lost a couple more. I think most of the remaining weight is in my boobs. ;)

Congrats to everyone on losing so much weight! It feels good to get your body back, doesn't it?

I was overweight before my pregnancy and somehow I only put on 19 lbs. As of 13 days pp, I had lost 21 -so I am now 2 lbs under my pre-preg weight. I am not doing anything at all but sitting on my butt eating cookies. Maybe that's the trick for me, when I worry about my weight I can't term to lose a pound but when I throw caution to the wind and totally indulge myself I lose weight. I hope it continues because its time for me to get back into shape, I hate hoe I look in my clothes.

The exact same thing happened to me - I had no idea that my feet had gotten puffy until the day after I gave birth and I realized how skinny my ankles and feet are!  I'm still sort of in shock whenever I look down at them.

It's so nice to be wearing my pre-pregnancy clothes again (hooray for more options!), but it's also really weird - for the first time in 4 months I have to remember to zip up my pants again after using the bathroom!  I'm so used to elastic waistbands on everything.

erica and penny, I practically had a "Welcome Home Ankles" party the first week home.  It was completely amazing.   My swelling was pretty bad toward the end, so I barely recognized these boney and veiney things as my ankles.  I looked like Skeletor at first until I realized... whoa, that's what they're supposed to look like!
