AFM: Thought I'd just quick pop in and give you guys an update.  My DH decided against doing an "at home" sample and rescheduled for yesterday.  He got his results today and they say his motility and morphology are great.  His count is kinda low, so they want to do another test before making any decisions.  The woman on the phone spoke to my husband like he was a moron and didn't give actual numbers.  She said, "The shape is thumbs up! The speed is thumbs up! But the count could be higher.  Like, if it were out of 100, you would score an 81." She said that they only treat with drugs counts that fall under 30 or 40.  They are thinking that since he had to move the donation day from Monday to Wednesday that he might have just waited too long.  She said to abstain for 2 days this next test to see if that makes a difference.  I'm pretty sure that there are vitamins and stuff my DH can take to fairly easily increase the count.  We aren't too concerned.  But, you never know if the minor problem he has combined with the somewhat minor problems I'm having are equaling out to more significant combined issue.  

I saw my doc today and she is increasing my thyroid meds and keeping the progesterone supplement.  We'll see if that helps next month.  I'm consulting with another doctor right now to get referred to a fertility specialist.  I'm hoping they will consider checking to see if my tubes are blocked, if I have adhesions from my c-section, or any other physical abnormality that may be preventing us from getting pregnant.  I just don't want to have to wait for the 12 month waiting period when I can do something about a problem now, you know?

Sorry I've been MIA, ladies.... nothing too exciting going on. I think I *might* have O'd late last night but honestly, I'm not sure and really... I don't care. We have been DTD every other day this go around (a big accomplishment for us pre-DD moving out of our room, lol) and hoping for the best. I'm really liking this relaxed approach. It's definitely been fun! We are DTD more for fun than for baby making purposes since I'm not even really watching my CM, let alone my temp and cervix. I haven't checked internally even ONCE! Yay me! I hope it all pays off and I am more fertile right now as so many people have told me I might be because of the loss. I guess we just wait and see.

AFM- Not much here, we haven't bd'd since Tuesday night but I still think I o'd either Tuesday night or Wednesday morning so hopefully it was enough.  I am trying to just not over think every little thing.  My order of wondfo IC's came in yesterday and it is all I can do not to allow myself to test already lol.  Oh by the way, can I be moved to the TWW? I am mostly just trying to keep busy so I won't think about it, I really would like to wait until Valentines Day to test if possible.

John16n33 - That's so funny about testing. I'm the same way this cycle! I moved my O date on FF to line up with the OPK, and it's so funny -  I'm only 3DPO, I'm still really having to use some will power not to test. It's so silly!

A2E - That sounds great about every other day and relaxing! Way to go! My new midwife from yesterday said that's what she recommends. Sounds like a great plan!

Mylissa - That's awful about how the person on the phone relayed the info to your husband! But it's kinda funny - I wonder if she was new or found it uncomfortable or something!

AFM - I had this amazing, super-fantastic medical team when I was pregnant before (the most super-star-stellar family practice doc and a great team of home birth midwives in the end). So I'm kinda working with a very high bar here. But I'm not sure how I felt about the midwife yesterday. I really dislike it when a Dr. works off some method but can't explain why that's the right method. Does that make sense? I thought cd21 tests were to look at "peak" progesterone levels (mid-luteal phase - 6 days after O). But I Oed 3 days ago. Any one have experience with this? Being told to test on a certain cycle day that doesn't match up with your cycle?

jpack- I've never been through testing but I would be annoyed too.  I had a wonderful doctor when I delivered Addi, but it was the hospital staff (other than one nurse and the anesthesiologist- he was so cool) that made my experience horrible.

jpack, I would imagine that testing based on an idealized cycle is pretty meaningless. My RE does p4 testing 7 days after a positve opk or trigger shot, so 5-6 dpo. That's so that you can start supplementing progesterone early enough if you need it. And to guage the strength of the ovulation. I would turn down a 3dpo p4 test. Also - jealous of your team for your first birth! :)

I am having a really hard time. I don't know if I O'd, when I O'd or anything. I have been feeling kind of nauseas for the last couple of days, but that may be more wishful thinking than anything else. 

On another note- I have a question for you all. I have to go to Germany to visit my family on the 19th, so if I am pregnant that would be at 5 weeks. My grandma is not doing well at all, and this will probably be the last time I see her. Do you guys think it is safe to fly? Some sites say it is, others say it is only safe during the second trimester....

Lisa- I've never heard of a problem with flying unless it is late in the 3rd trimester.  That was just my doc though, I don't know about others.

Thanks so much John16n33 and Gozal! I really appreciate the thoughts. Thanks for validating my concerns! I tried to say no, that it didn't make sense since I just ovulated. She was very insistent without really making sense to me.  I think it's good indication that I'm not going to work well with the new midwife and need to find someone else. I wonder what the normal range of numbers will be for 3dpo?

As for the flying question, LisaAdkins, I don't know what the right answer is, but if I was in your shoes I would probably go. I think it's never possible to know what all the implications are, but it sounds like a great opportunity and an important trip. Hmm...

Sorry for the delay in moving everyone around on the threadstarter, I've been a bit braindead this week with the start of school! Hopefully everyone is where they're meant to be now though - please tell me if I've mixed anything up!

MsKez - Welcome to the group! TTC is a journey for sure, lots to think about! But I think just seeing how these first few months go before charting is a good idea. It's so good to be able to be as relaxed as possible about it! This is a great group of women, with lots of insight and experience :)

A2E - I like the sound of this plan! You sound really happy and relaxed which is great!

jpack - It definitely seems weird to me to base testing off an ideal cycle rather than your personal one as gozal said. You know your body, and a good medical professional should be flexible and willing to listen in my opinion!

LisaAdkins - I totally know how you feel about not knowing your O date, it's so frustrating! It might just take a few days for the pattern to become clearer. As for flying, I would go personally. I've only heard of 3rd trimester flying being unsafe and I'm sure lots of women have flown at 5 weeks without even knowing they were pregnant! I think at the end of the day it's what you feel most comfortable with :)

AFM - I still don't think I've O'd, but still have a fair amount of watery and ewcm so looking at last months pattern of temps I'm wondering if it's going to happen today/tomorrow. My temps haven't spiked yet, but they did dip slightly so we shall see! It's a long weekend here but my husband has to work Sat/Sun so I'm going into school to get myself sorted for classes starting next week. Our Year 9's (13yrs, first year of high school) started with their orientation yesterday and they were the cutest things! Fingers crossed they stay that way, ha.

Hi!!

Still lurking, and trying to read, but not much to input for responses.  Thinking of you all and keeping fingers crossed for good eggies and BFPs!

I had to stop by and share though... I scored dollar-store style pregnancy tests at WalMart today for $0.88 each!  Wahoo!  I knew you all would be the only ones who could appreciate how truly exciting that is!  The boxes were mangled, so I guess that's why there were cheap, but I never even knew they carried that kind.  I bought all they had, and I'm sure the cashier was rolling her eyes because my two dear little ones were not being so "dear" as she checked us out! 

AFM and my cycle, my appointments with the naturopath/accupuncturist have been going very well.  However, she gave me maca to take, and instructed me to take them according to the box which recommended 4 capsules per day.  The days I take the maca, my legs hurt so badly, I literally can't move.  And can't sleep   I did a little research online and did find that people have this reaction, but it might be less if I kinda ramped up to the 4 capsules.  I have another appointment Monday, so I will ask about it.  But as soon as I stopped taking the maca, the cramping stopped and I had the BEST night's sleep last night.  So I can't imagine it's not that, ya know?

Hello everyone!  I guess I will finally make the big jump and ask to please move me to Graduates.  I was waiting for my appt. that I had scheduled today thinking I would get an early ultrasound and hear the little heartbeat.  I didn't get to have an ultrasound so I guess I will have to wait another month to hear that little heartbeat. :(  But I still had a good visit today with my new midwife, and I'm very sick (vomiting and the works!) so that makes me feel confident that things are going okay with this little baby.  I am 7 weeks 4 days.

I am crossing my fingers & toes for everyone for some BFPs very soon!

mamaforever - Bummer about the ultrasound, but it sounds like things are going really well! I would love to move you to graduates! 

dbl_my_luv - Hmm, it definitely sounds like you're having a rough time with the maca! I don't know much about it to be honest, but I hope you get some answers soon. Well done on the HPT score!!

AFM - I had a big temp spike this morning so I'm pretty sure I've O'd today or yesterday. We've got a pretty outside chance at the moment since we've only BD'd once in my fertile window and I was hoping to last night and/or today but my husband is really sick so I don't think that's going to be happening. Ah well. Hopefully we caught the egg and my temp spike wasn't due to sleeping next to a feverish husband!

John16n33 - I too am planning to test on Valentine's Day - it would be 15 DPO for me and my luteal phase is usually in the 14 day range. There's a part of me thinking I should wait for 18 elevated temps but I just don't know if I can do it.

LisaAdkins - I agree with everyone else - you'd really regret not seeing your grandmother and I've flown in the first trimester (as well as a number of my friends) w/o problem. I live in Central Asia and many foreigner women here fly in and out during every stage of pregnancy w/o problem. However, I'd definitely wear some support socks so you don't get swollen ankles. Rockers brand knee high support socks are awesome :)

mamaforever - congratulations! I hope that you can feel the hope rising up inside (I'm sure it's hard to be too excited with your previous loss) but I'll be praying for you and a healthy lil bun.
