Weekly Chat - January 30-February 5

Good Morning!  I thought I'd get this week's chat started...hope that's ok!  I've been up since 4:30 am so why not?  My DS is a frequent waker and has really settled in on a wake up between 4:00 and 5:00 am and I try desperately to get him back to sleep because it is WAY to early for him, obviously.  I am usually successful after a while but then I am UP.  I went to the gym this morning and I should feel pretty happy with myself but instead I am stressing about how it didn't make me nauseated like it usually does.  I am the worst worrier!  I am a symptom nut.

I hope everyone is having a great start to the week.

Kelantan - I've been thinking of you. I hope all is well!

omg...i can't even think about going to the gym at this point. it's 6:40am and i'm fighting nausea with a banana and a glass of sierra mist. i NEVER drink soda but as of right now it's the greatest stuff on earth. i don't kniw how to get through today, just hoping the nausea is due to hunger.

kelantan. still thinking about you too. anything new?

Thanks for the new thread! I'm also a symptom crazed fool at the moment. If my nausea even lets up a bit I get nervous too. My u/s is this Thursday! I'll be 7w1d.

Glad I'm not the only one!  My ultrasound isn't until Feb. 14th.  I will be 8w2d.  That's actually early for my OB but she has a crazy schedule right now and since I am "advanced" maternal age, they fit me in orngtongue.gif

If I go with my old midwife, I won't have but one u/s (and even that's optional) so we'll do it around 18-22 weeks.  Waiting to hear back from her on something and then go from there....

Hey goin' green!  I was thinking of you this morning because our WOD had box jumps.  Do you have any feelings about how long it will be ok to do those?  We were doing thrusters, burpees, and box jumps so I focused on keeping the intensity reasonable but I figured all of those are ok if they feel ok for now....hope you don't mind me tapping into your expertise!

7 weeks this week!

I also have an early riser, DS was up at 5:15 today. I hate it. Then he naps in the morning and I am not tired enough to sleep, but then I am exhausted by 3 pm. It makes for a long day.

This whole 8 week ultrasound is really new to me.

The midwife office ordered it for dating - they said to cover their ass and allow them to go post dates without medical system backlash.

I am excited because it will mean seeing a heartbeat so much earlier... and hopefully setting me a little more at ease.

MissE: I hope we both have good news to share on Thursday! Mine is in the morning....8:30...and I'm on the west coast.

lol, well with all my symptoms i'm pretty sure it's positive news i'll be getting. my appointment is at 830 am also but i'm in texas. i'll have to drop the kids off early at 7 am at their mother's day out just to make it in time.

Hi Everyone - I will be 9 weeks on Friday, I am so thrilled with how quickly this dreaded first trimester is.  Mostly feeling good but every few days my stomach hurts so much that I have no idea what I want to eat.  I keep craving vietnamese food and today I had to run to the stroe to get english muffin with American Cheese, such random but specific cravings!  Two weeks from Friday we have our first midwife appointment and I am really looking forward to hearing that little heartbeat again!

Thinking of you Kelantan

Well, I finally was prescribed medication for the awful MS. I'm hoping by tomorrow I'll be feeling better. I'm just past 9 weeks - will be 10 weeks on Saturday.

Our health care system only offers one US at 20ish weeks. I have already booked my 4D for March 30th though. My daughters who are 6 and 10 are super involved with the pregnancy so I wanted to do the 4D for them.

I'm usually much more chatty in these threads, but since I'm so miserable, I don't have much to contribute yet. I'll be sure to be more involved in the 2nd trimester. LOL

I was thrilled to get to eight weeks on Saturday. And I still have symptoms (I lost my last pg at 7w5d, so this is a big deal now). I know it doesn't make it so that nothing else can go wrong.. but I think I can breathe a bit more.  And we've told family (well, dh's side... I NEED to tell my family since they live in the same small town! I just haven't had the chance to do so yet.. I'm almost about to have to text them or something (just so they don't run into one of dh's BAZILLION family members in town and find out and that would be TERRIBLE for them to find out that way I think!).. I really need to figure out a way to tell them!!

I weighed myself on MILs scale yesterday (we don't own one) and I haven't actually gained anything. Wow. I still think my abdomen area looks huge though.  Weird.  I'll take it though.

Every day (at least once a day), I really crave an orange/banana smoothie!  I juice three or four oranges by hand, put in a couple big glops of honey greek yogurt and a banana with about a dozen ice cube and blend like crazy and DRINK. IT. UP!  YUM!

My midwife doesn't see clients until after 10 weeks... so I still have at least two weeks to go.  But.. I'm feeling better about things, so it will be great :)

My nausea has hit a new level of unbearable...  All my old tricks stopped working.  I am hoping I am just sick (dd2 was throwing up late last week) and that this doesn't last for several more weeks!  (I have never wanted to be sick before, lol but at least sickness has a forseeable end.)

I ate 6 baby carrots and a 1/4 cup of oatmeal and drank a cup of OJ today and am hungry again (duh! It's almost 4.  Of course I am hungry!) so I am gonna attempt a grilled cheese sandwich... with a cup of OJ (If I am craving anything it is OJ!) Hopefully I will enjoy it! :)

I am 7 weeks, 1 day.  I told my sister and her DP about our news over the weekend and they were overjoyed.  So now that my family knows, I think it would only be fair to tell DH's family. winky.gif  We'll do that this coming weekend when we are over there for the superbowl.  I am wondering if my SIL (hubby's sister who was actually my high school bff) knows something.  She has asked me every week for the past 4 weeks (we get our kiddos together weekly...or try to anyway).  We were going to wait to tell our families, but figured we could tell anyone who we would tell we miscarried anyway.  I am still going to wait after the first trimester...March 6th  (or maybe even a month later at Easter) to tell my extended family like aunts and cousins, friends, and public spaces in general.  I think winter clothes will afford me that opportunity, but we'll see.  (I have a hard time waiting so long!)

I just finished my grilled cheese with OJ.  It was AMAZING!

Oh, my god. I've managed to accidentally navigate off this page mid-message three times now. Argh.

Took half a Unisom last night, and it appears to have helped a lot. I still got nauseous around noon while I was out running an errand, but that could just have been because it was time to eat. I'm really looking forward to such time as I can re-balance my diet- I'm using a lot of bread/rice/crackers to get in peanut butter/cheese/etc., and I can see the results on my stomach and, more important, just feel how much less nutritious it is. I'll continue with the Unisom (B6 is on the way from Amazon as I couldn't find 25mg pills at Walgreens) and hope it wasn't just a fluke.. could use a break. Pregnancy so far basically sucks. I'm tired all the time, gruff and grumpy, and feeling too crappy to get far from home even if I want to go out. There's so much time left to go, and there are no breaks. I'm sure it will be cool to feel kicking, and the kid will be great, but as for pregnancy itself? I can totally see why some people only do this once.

My nausea has seemingly gotten better... just a tad.  I'm hoping it stays that way!  However, nursing my DD2 is hell.  Oh my heck.  It hurts so bad when she latches on, I want to puke.

AND I'm extremely tired and lazy.  My DH got a free desk on Craigslist and him and his dad are bringing it over right now.  I need to tackle the living room and dining room... stuff is just everywhere.

I do a lot of social networking and blogging for work, but all I want to do know is talk about babies and being pregnant here in our little due date club.

I will wait until the 2nd trimester to write about being pregnant.  I'm just too nervous about getting through trimester #1.

On a different note, I watched the documentary "Babies" yesterday.  You should all see it.

Great movie, good vibes for healthy sweet pregnancies.

Box jumps should be fine as long as you feel comfortable doing them.  I don't think they'll be a problem until we have bellies to contend with.  When you get to that point you could go down to a smaller box, or just do step-ups.  I do caution our people though, that more people hurt themselves by missing the box on box jumps than any other thing (probably the only thing at our box besides ripping) so step ups are certainly better than that - especially with a pregnant belly!  :-)

Ironically, here is a post a friend just shared with me today about a pregnant cross fitter:  http://www.crossfitwhitebear.com/category/tip-of-the-week/

feeling slightly better emotionally since my spotting/clot scare over the weekend, but I felt SO nauseous all day. I guess that is a good thing.. We had a really cool yoga demo at work today during our staff meeting but I was too paranoid over the bleeding to participate. Hopefully I get my confidence back because this yoga studio is going to come give us free yoga classes at work every monday!

I can't believe this is already our third chat thread.. this is kind of flying by. I'll be 9 weeks on wednesday!

Tomorrow is my DS 3rd birthday so we are talking about how three years ago today we were just waiting to meet him.
