I get the WW email newsletter (sign up for it on their website, you dont have to join to get the newsletter!) Anyway, I just got the email and it has some great dessert recipes, most for 5pts. I just printed out a carrot cake recipe with frosting that looks really good!

I weigh in tonight (after vacation and missing 1 meeting), so its been 2 weeks! YIKES! I feel alot thinner this week for some reason.....and I did well on my vacation, walking ALOT.

wish me luck!

If anyone wants any of the dessert recipes and cant get to them for whatever reason, LMK and I can email the newsletter or send a link for the recipes.

Ok, so I didn't post my weigh in last week becasue I didn't lose or gain, just stayed the same. No biggie. Well, last night I stayed the same AGAIN!! This is so discouraging after great losses (2 and 3 pounds) the first 2 weeks.

The thing is, I'm a scale hopper all week and I just know that my weight fluxuates a lot. But, yesterday morning i was 4 pounds down on the same scale I used for weigh in last night! I was expecting to be down att least a little bit.

I am in the 20 point range but I eat at least 22 a day for nursing. I usually only leave 5-10 flex points every week. I'm not counting flex points in my regular 22 points a day. I eat flex points above and beyond that, mostly just on the weekend. I haven;t been excersizing consistantly or getting all my water every day. Dh is convinced I need to eat more! i get the concept, it's just hard to eat more when you're not losimg now!!

I needed to get that off my chest. I hope the rest of you are doing better than I am this morning.

Beth! Thats how I was this whole month! then I would gain .4 lbs.... I was so discouraged. Well, last night I weighed in and lost 1lb 4. FINALLY! Im following everything, only using 20pts.......BUT, I think the key, for me anyway, is exercise on a consistant basis. Its 6am and Im off to the gym now! I know its hard with a little one, but even pushing the stroller everyday is exercise. I think its something I will have to do EVERY DAY. Either walking with the stroller or getting up at this ungodly hour to go to the gym.

I hope I continue to lose, or its going to get harder and harder to stay with the program. I feel your pain! Just wanted to give you some support.

Beth, I'm going on my past experiences with WW here (not doing it now obviously), but the FIRST thing I'd tell you to change is your water. Drink it all, drink MORE, just get it all in ya. That will likely show a change.

And don't look at the scale during the week. Just journal honestly, drink your water, and trust in the process. Hubby is doing WW now, and the weeks he's all over the scale are his most disappointing weigh-ins (even if he loses). One weigh-in a week is all anyone really needs.

Good luck!

Weighed in last night & I'm down another 1.5 lbs. for a total of 5 lbs. so far! .

Good, steady progress, and I'm 10 lbs. away from goal of being 170 on my 30th birthday (June 23rd).

Beth-I totally agree with the suggestion to drink lots, even if you need to add lemon juice to your water or something to make it more palatable (or lots of ice). I find it makes me feel good (and I would imagine it's good for nursing). Hang in there mama, it sounds like your doing well-and it's good to eat your flex points, as many metabolisms need them (especially nursing metabolisms!)

good luck! :

Beth, you're doing great! I have a strong feeling that I won't be losing tomorrow when I weigh in. I've done some horrible eating this past week - but it was yummy and felt great, so it was worth it. I'm back on track now and it will all happen like it's supposed to. {{hugs}}

Jesse, that's SO GREAT! YAY! Congratulations, mama!!!

Hey! It's so great to hear about y'all losin' weight!! I had to run downstairs and figure out the damage....I was off WW pretty much for five days. Thurs- Monday. But When I got on the scale, I was down Two pounds!!! Now I'm not feeling as guilty.

I was kind of afraid I'd just outright blown it. Which makes me want to bag the whole thing, but that's just silly. If I can't eat out and stay on the plan, it's never going to work. I'm going to go through Dottie's site and pick up some more hints on how to eat out and not use up every single point. She has some good tips.

Good Luck, everyone! Have a great week!!

Hello All- Would it be ok for me to join in here also? I have been doing WW since December and have lost 31 pounds
I recently had to ween my 6 month son cold turkey Aside from what it did to me mentally weight wise it is a bummer too. I now have 22 pts soon to be 20 pts for the day and it seems harder to budge those pounds!
Monday is my weigh in day. I am looking forward to being supported by like minded mamas! Since I have stopped nursing I have found myself eating much less healthy- diet processed crap. Are there Mamas here that try to stay away from that kind of food?

Well, I will fully admit to being a slave to caffeine...and when I'm working that means diet soda pop. Ick. And you will also find in my fridge: fat free shredded cheese and fat free sour cream. These have been staples. But there are some things that I won't budge on....like Mayo. If I'm gonna eat it, I'm going to enjoy it. And Butter...I can NOT stand margarine *shudder*.

But I did get those "Butter Buds" to put on my veggies.

You know, now instead of buying the really fatty sausage, I get chicken or turkey, or instead of getting the Ben and Jerry's, I get the Skinny Cow. To me, it makes sense to lower the amount of fat, so that's what I'm trying. I will always buy good bread. I will always use real potatoes. I will always use real bacon. I guess the main thing is balance, and portion size.

I've been struggling today. I used up 6 flex points. I just have felt hungry all day long. Erg. Time to go to bed, so I don't eat any more!

Hello. I'd like to join this thread -- I (re)joined WW one week ago and had my first weigh-in this morning. I'm down 2 lbs! Woo hoo!

I'm trying to lose some weight while TTC #1 -- my doctor would like to see me at around 112 lbs so I've got 25 more pounds to go. However, if I can manage to get pregnant in the meantime, I'm hoping I'll have developed some better eating habits that will make pregnancy a bit easier on my body.

Welcome Heidi & Kimberly!

Jess, I know what you mean about low point vs regular staples. I had a great wrap from Roly Poly yesterday that had roasted pork, bacon (I skipped the cheese, but with the cheese it only would have been one point more) and BBQ sauce! YUM!! I skipped the cheese so I could have ice cream with dd after dinner.

Beth-

I agree with the others- HIDE THAT SCALE! : I was the same way, and realized that it was not only an obsession, but killing my motivation as well. Also, I always WI after nursing in the AM in the buff, so I stay consistent.

Also, I agree that you might not be eating enough to lose. It is pretty common for nursing moms to hang on to the weight if you aren't eating enough b/c your body will really want to keep your milk supply up. My DS is the same age as yours, and he is nursing 4x a day. I add 6 BF points to my 20 target each day and eat all of my flex every week. I have lost almost 30 pounds doing this. A good rule of thumb is to add 2 points per nursing session with a maximum of 10 per day. There is a really supportive group of nursing moms doing WW that I am one of the moderators for at

Hello all--
I need help from some of the ww veterans...just needing some motivation. I've lost almost 30 pounds and am getting sooooooo tired of counting everything I do. I have about 10 more pounds to my goal and I really do need to get there, but I have started to do crazy things like have a chili dog yesterday and fries...yes, I know, flexpoints and all, but with the way I have eaten in the past that's a slippery slope.

I guess I'm just hoping to catch myself before I start gaining or stalling. And I'm starting to have thoughts like...well, my weight now is good enough.

I'm losing weight because #1, my dad died of a heart attack at age 51 and I have a 50% higher risk of heart disease because of that. Also, I had high blood pressure when I was pg with my daughter and had a c-section, and I don't want to repeat that when I get pg again. So I'm trying to repeat that to myself but argh!!!!!

help??????

Oh Beth I'm not sure what to say. WW meetings are held pretty much daily. Can you attend one? I find them sooo motivational! Can you try and think of alternatives to the foods you badly want? Like a turkey hotdog or vegetarian chili or 2% cheese or oven fries?

Well my intro - my name is Jennifer and I've been on WW for 17 weeks. I've lost around 19lbs but last week I was on vacation and threw the WW book out the window including 11pm Pizza with wings!! So now I'm back on program this week.

Monday was really hard though, we had a power outage which stressed me out and I ended up eating about 10 points over my goal. I eat 36 points a day as a nursing mother who nurses pretty darn close to exclusively. Without the 10 extra points given for nursing I'd eat 26 points.

I've lost every week except for one but sometimes the amount is only like .4 other times it's more like 2.6 so losing varies with me. I didn't weigh in last week because I didn't want to see how much I'd gained! lol My biggest struggles are with getting enough water, late night eating and feeling full long term.

Oakparkveggie thank you so much for the encouragement! I've had a hard time knowing just what to do with the nursing points because I don't know people IRL who are nursing toddlers! Ds nurses 4-6 times a day (and a million at night lately!) so I will increase my points for sure! I've been doing better with water this week and staying off the scale.

I'll check out the nursing moms group. Thanks again!

I weighed in today and I've gained two pounds! HEEE! I knew it was coming, though, and it was so worth it to eat all that Ukranian food and drink some good cocktails!

I'm back OP, though, this week! Yesssirree!

I made the Frozen Cappuccino Pie last night it was delish!! I posted the recipe on WW Recipe thread in this same forum:

http://www.mothering.com/discussions....php?p=1476780

I also just bought for the first time......Baked Guiltless Gormet Spicy Black Bean on Blue Corn Tortilla Chips........tasted like regular tortilla chips and only 2pts for 17!! I had 1/2 that amount for one point....perfect with lunch and the taste was great!

Dh bought be a new bike last night!! Im so stoked! I havent had a new bike in about 15 yrs, cant believe how light it is!! And its the first time Ive ever had a womens bike.....Ive always had mens bikes and rode them feeling uncomfortable. Great motivation for us to get out there on the weekends. We also have a kids trailer for dd.......so now all 3 of us can go for a ride!

Hi everyone,
I hope you guys don't mind me posting in this thread - I am not on WW but want to start but I am scared. I'm scared I'll fail or cheat or won't have the will power to stick with it! I am about 30lbs over what I want to weigh = what I used to weigh before 2 kids. I have a 4 month old that nurses constantly, exclusively on demand and I joined a gym 6 weeks ago and go 3 times a week faithfully. Despite all that, I have not lost a single pound. In fact, I gained 2 pounds! Everyone tells me that muscle weighs more than fat but I am still very discouraged My clothes do NOT fit better either. The lady at the gym measured me and I have lost 1" off my chest and 1" off each arm but everything was the same or bigger (how is that possible?) My diet is not horrible but not great. I have a Coke addiction - I have managed to cut back on caffeine but I need to cut way back on my sugar consumption also. I never used to drink coffee in the mornings except weekends with dh but now I have a cup or two of decaf everymorning - the problem with this is that i HAVE to have sugar in my coffee. And a lot of it!

Anyhow, I am rambling here. I guess I am just looking for some encouragement that WW does work. I think that if I had something that I could follow, it would help my eating habits, otherwise I just have no discipline. Maybe then I could get over it and join online and start feeling better about myself.
