I was doing so well, then some girlfriends came over. Out to Thai food for dinner, ordered Pad Thai, ate about 2 cups with 1/2 cup of white rice.

But then had about a cup of coconut ice cream.

Eeeks.

Then home to eat four bite size snickers.

I have four days to go in my week and I've exhausted my flex points. Guess I need to get my butt outside and exercise, eh?

Sad night.

Then again, tomorrow is another day, right?

Don't worry Pamamidwife. Yesterday was rough one for me too.

We went househunting and stopped at a Dunkin Donuts for coffee. I sent my d(imwit)h in so I could stay with the kids in the car and instead of my low fat blueberry muffin that I wanted, he brought back a glazed crueller. But it was damn good. I just know from experience that my dh, who is a really great man blah blah blah, tries to sabotage my weight loss efforts everytime. I was too hungry to argue, but I need to be more aware of him.

So today is a new day and tomorrow is a new week. I don't know about hwere you are, but the sun is coming out here and it is finally spring.

Let's get moving this week mamas!!!!!!!

We had an absolutely gorgeous day here in SE PA. My dh and I went for an amazing two hour 20 mile bikeride with dd. Man, my butt is sore ! I just calculated the points earned and I earned almost 6 points! Had a delicious breakfast of 1/2 cup SW style eggbeaters with 1 tbsp. lite alouette cheese and two "soysage" patties. Lunch was baby carrots, a luna bar and mango water ice. Tonight we're grilling marinated turkey "tenderloins", corn on the cob, cuke salad and big green salad. Yum! This beautiful weather and all my tight fitting warm weather clothes are really motivating me. Weekend splurges are what those flexpoints are for. You mamas are doing great! Have an awsome week! We are strong, we can do this!

Im sooo frustrated. Went to WW meeting and I didnt lose ANYTHING! Last week I only lost .8lbs. Ive been following the program and exercising (but not as much as I probably should due to rain and dd being sick....but when I DO exercise, its a heavy SPIN class or walking 4miles!).

Any advise?
Oh rainsmom. Sorry you're frustrated.

I have this printed and posted in my cube at work and it helps keep me going.

Quote:
Let me share a little of my journey for it will be good for me to leave it here, and it will be good for you to walk in my shoes.

There were days, when the diet (counting calories for me) was so easy, that I couldn't believe anyone had ever managed to mess this up. Food just seemed to be fuel and nothing more.

There were days, when I thought I would starve to death, and the calories were gone shortly before lunch.

There were days, when I lost weight even though I felt like I had really messed up the week before.

There were days, when I gained weight despite being totally OP every day.

There were days, when exercise came easily.

There were days, when I was too exhausted or too busy to move at all.

There were days, when I just wanted to quit and accept that I was JUST FAT.

There were days, when I would wake myself up crunching my stomach muscles.

There were days, when everyone noticed that I had lost weight and compliments flowed like wine.

There were days, when no one noticed.

There were days, when I thought I had to starve to lose.

There were days, when I thought I could eat anything and I would lose despite it.

There were days, when I just wanted to be done.

There were days, when I thought I could continue forever.

There were days, when I felt fat, and the scales would be lower.

There were days, when I felt thin, and the scales would be higher.

There were days, when I wished someone would notice.

There were days, when I wished no one would notice again.

You see, they were just days. And if you tackle each day, one at a time, the next day, you get a different day. So for today, don't give up. Tomorrow will bring a loss, if you do what you are supposed too. I promise. And then,

There were days, when I realized, that I am not dieting anymore. This is totally normal, and I can't imagine eating any other way.

Those are the days my friend. You'll wish they would never end.
I hope that helps you too, even if just a little bit. You're doing great by following the program and exercising even you lose slowly. Each week is a new week, each day is a new day.

One more for you mama, you deserve it!

Hi Everyone!

I'm so glad that I found this thread! I haven't had a chance to read everyone's posts (I can't spend too much time on MDC when I'm at the office! LOL), but I have skimmed through them.

Regarding going to the regular points system once solids are introduced - I wouldn't do that unless you see that you are suddenly not losing weight. DS started solids and I am still on the BFing points system and am still losing.

I have been on WW for 7.5 weeks. I've lost 17.8 lbs. I'm 5'8" and my starting weight was 226.2 lbs. I now weigh 208.4 lbs. My pre-pregnancy weight was 220 lbs, so I am happy to be below that! My goal is 155-160 lbs. At the height of my pregnancy weight, I was 260 lbs.

I'm so glad that you're out there! I look forward to being a part of this thread!

Hi all! I just found this thread - I just found this new forum!

I lost 62 pounds with Weight Watchers - I was a Lifetime member for 6 months before this pregnancy. I've been working as a WW receptionist since August, and I'm finishing up my Leader training this month.

I'm so glad that I know what I do now about weight loss, and that I'll have the support I need after this baby is born. I also can't wait for those nursing points again!

About those nursing points - I found that the information given in the materials didn't really address my needs when I was nursing an older infant/toddler. So I tailored the plan. I cut back on my nursing points gradually. I could tell that my body didn't need all 10 nursing points once my son was eating more solids.

When I cut back on my nursing points, I let the scale guide me. If I followed the program and still stayed the same or gained, then I would cut back one or two points.

Hope this helps!

I can't post much, gotta pick up the kids from school, but can I join?

I weigh more than I ever have in my life. Just so frustrating! And I *know* what I'm supposed to do, I just don't do it!

So I joined weight watchers, and in three weeks I've lost 2.4 pounds. Not so great; but I guess better than nothing.

So I'll be joining the MDC WW thread....

Thanks for starting this, pamamidwife.

Having a really delicious day!

Wanted to share my very delicious day today. My lunch was awesome!

For breakfast I had scottish oats (1/2 cup uncooked) mixed with 1/2 cup org. raspberry applesauce and cinnamon (3 pts). Also coffee with FF 1/2 and 1/2 (0 pts). Still trying to get used to coffee without sweetener but I've found buying really good coffee makes all the difference.

For lunch I had a big whole wheat lavash (2 pts) wrapped around, 1 cup org. spinach (0 pts), cuke slices (0 pts), 4 oz. of Soy Boy Carribbean style tofu that I baked until nice and crispy outside, soft and chewy inside (4 pts), and...1/2 cup (not quite) homemade pineapple mango salsa (1 pt). Soooo tasty. I even have enough for lunch tomorrow.

I had bought the tofu before I started WW and I was trying to figure out what to do with it. I also had a perfectly ripe mango sitting in the fruit bowl and half a container of fresh pineapple in the fridge. Voila! The only thing I wish I had was fresh cilantro but I made do with other seasonings (splash of lime and tequila, sprinkle coriander, parsley, red chile pepper, etc.). I had more spinach with a couple tbsp. of the salsa on top as a side and I'm not counting any points on that. I also brought a big old heapin' cup of organic strawberries that were threatening to get furry (1 pt) for dessert.

My snack this afternoon will be baby carrots and my current favorite splurge, two Miss Meringue triple chocolate meringues for a total of one point. If for some reason I'm still hungry (unlikely) I have a yucky lite yogurt in the fridge that I've been avoiding.

That leaves me with a pretty generous amount of points left for dinner. I think I'm making soup. If the recipe is good I'll post it on the recipe thread.

I saw my midwife for my annual and pap yesterday so I checked my weight. I'm down 1.6 pounds from last week!

Start: 155.6
Current: 148
Goal: 135
Stretch goal: 125 (at work we call this a BHAG, big hairy aggressive goal )

Official weigh-in is tomorrow. Keep up the good work mamas. Thank goodness the fresh produce season has started. Will make staying focused MUCH easier.

Yay, Lori! Thanks for joining us!

I've been stepping on the scale alot lately - I know, I know. I really shouldn't. It looks like I've lost maybe 2 pounds in the past week. Hard to tell since I'm bloated and bleeding right now.

I'm in!

Ok, so DH and I started WW yesterday. I'm so glad he wants to do it with me, it should make it much easier. I'm feeling a little inexperienced and uncreative so I love hearing what the rest of you are eating...I need to go grocery shopping again tomorrow.

I'm only allowed 20 points on the regular plan but I am nursing my 17 month old who eats regular food too but nurses 6-20 times per day. It seems he is picking up again and I am feeling a little drained. So...I want to lose weight and I'm really not worried about my milk supply-it's great, so should I stick to the 20 points (+ flex)? Anyone BTDT?

Here's my data:
Height 5'1"
Current: 130
Goal: 115

I weigh on Mondays.

What a great thread and a great new forum!
Hey, I'll join in! I actually just got back from my first weigh in. I lost 2.4 this week. I am 5'4 and my start weight was 155.6 and now I am 153.2. I am pretty pleased with myself! It is not my first time doing WW and it kind of stinks because I gained back 35 lbs and now I have to lose it all over again but I know if I didn't join I would keep getting bigger and bigger. So now I am back and I feel really good about it! Well, gotta get DS ready for bed. 'Nite!

Hi

I just joined WW yesterday. I was thinking about it for a while and when I saw this thread I dove in. I have really been trying (okay not really devoted dedicated trying) for a while. Now I am quite serious, and I think the WW system will work for me.

Look forward to losing - FINALLY!
Wow!! I just noticed this thread today! I re-joined WW this morning. I joined the online version since it is easier for me but this thread is just the extra support I needed. I will weigh in on Wednesdays. I am on a little ttc hiatus after a recent miscarriage so I want to lose a little weight before ttc again. I weigh about 145 and I would be happy getting down to 125-130. Height is 5'4 or so.

Today was my first day. At the end of the day, I found myself having some food cravings for something decadent. I do feel I it was not due to hunger though. Got outside for a 55 minute walk with the dog and husband!!!

Those of you who feel hungry - you can use your extra points gradually throughout the week. My point limit is 20 per day with 35 extra points to distribute if I chose to.

Thanks for this thread!!!

Yay pamamidwife! That's excellent!
Was there anything special that has helped you so far?

Bunches, goodcents, Erin22, Bethkm, loridjs, ebethmom, and BklynJen! I'm so glad the pamamidwife started this thread. It's so nice to have support to turn to.

I just had my meeting (WW at work ) and I've lost another 2 pounds since last week <--I love this smilie!
The leader added 6 to 2 and got 9 : which of course initially made me happy but then I had to correct it so I wouldn't start thinking I can just make up my weight .

I polished off a half bag of mini carrots today (8 oz.) . I hope I don't start turning orange! I just really needed to crunch on something today. No chips, no chips, no chips...

Start: 155.6
Current: 147.6
Goal: 135
