Welcome, TeaForMe!

Between my vacation and the death of my BIL, I haven't been on program. I weighed in this morning and am up another 2 pounds. So, today I'm starting the program again. I feel good about it and am ready to do it. I tell you, eating all that food was yummy (lots of cake and cookies!), but I felt like crap after doing it. I notice that I feel so much better eating on program.

p.s.: Congrats, Jen! You're doing great!

I have been very off the program! It's sad. Now I'm pg. Is there a WW for pregnant people?
I've decided that I can only have one family get together a week while on WW. I have 3 (bil's birthday, old high school friends coming over tonight and father's day) this week and my flex points just aren't going to be enough

Welcome TeaForMe! It is hard when you are looking at a large number of pounds to lose. I think weight watchers sets a 10% goal for you at first so you can shoot for something smaller. I'd like to ultimately lose about 80 pounds, but for now my 10% goal is 24 pounds, so that is a little easier to look at.

Goodcents- have you tried using the quiktrak method that they have? It is just a sheet with your daily points (one number in each box) and you just x off the boxes when you use points, so it is much quicker than writing down the foods/points/tallying, etc. Not sure if that will help you any. I'm sure after several months of this it gets old having to record everything you eat.

ekblad7- I was wondering this too. This seems like a great way to control what I'm eating (at least somewhat) while I am pregnant. I know to go on maintenance you add 4 points to your daily total. I was thinking that 3-4 points above that (so about 8 extra points a day) would be a good goal to shoot for while pregnant. Not sure if that is enough points or not.

Hey everyone Haven't posted for a while. So nice to have so many mamas here!

I've had some ups and downs but I am pleased to report that I made my 10% and I am now only 1.8 lbs. from goal!

I was able to wear a pair of jeans that I bought two years ago that never fit when I bought them (was too lazy to return). They were a size 8! I haven't worn anything that size since my first marriage Very exciting. My 12 weeks will be up soon and it will be time to re-enroll. The leader was saying that if I make my goal I only have to pay for six weeks instead of 12 so hopefully that will motivate me to get rid of the last 1.8. I've been really, really lazy about writing stuff down and need to get back on the wagon with that.

Welcome TeaForMe, Juliasmum, ChasingPeace and all of the other mamas! We have grown to such a big group! Congratulations to everyone on their losses!

Congratulations Ekblad7 on your pregnancy! Such wonderful news! I would say just focus on trying to eat as healthy as you can and don't worry about the program. There will be plenty of time for that later.

Pama, so sorry to hear about your BIL . We were talking in our meeting today how unfair it is that you struggle and struggle to lose a half pound or so but it is so darn easy to put on several pounds when you go off program. Makes you realize that this really is a way of life and not just a temporary lifestyle change. You're definitely right about feeling yucky after eating poorly. I've noticed that too. Well today is a new day, those veggies and fruits are waiting for you .

"Don't give up what you want most for what you want this moment."

Have a great week mamas!

P.S. Pama, should we start a #2 thread?

Hi Tea for me! Just wanted to give you a little hope...I had 40 lbs to lose in January and I have currently lost 33. I feel so much better and the program really works if you stick to it. I have found that reading success stories online or in magazines or whatever is very helpful for me, so maybe that would help you too!
Take care and good luck!
Peace.

This is a seriously old thread but after the I'm Fat thread I thought we could revive it and perhaps with enough interest start a new thread.

I started WW this past Tuesady and have 32 points each day. So far today is the first day I have successfully ended a day. YEAY!!!!

Any newcomers?

BTW, my 10% is 30 pounds, and my ultimate weight loss goal is 130 pounds which would put my 5'10" height at 170 lbs

potty diva- I would love to see this thread revived. I am pregnant now so not on the program but plan to head right back after baby is born... about six weeks after. Then I get all those fun nursing points.

Good job on finishing that one day (maybe more by now). Rejoice in your little acomplishments.

I would love a new WW thread - I actually came here today looking for one! I've looked at the WW discussion boards but ....they just aren't for me.

I started WW 2.5 weeks ago, have lost 6 lbs, have about 40 more to go - I haven't really picked a goal weight - just trying to do one day at a time but i guess my goal weight would be about 140 and I'm 5'3.

Wow! This thread brings back memories! I just had a baby two weeks ago but am so ready to lose this baby weight! Anyone know what the nursing point number is?
ekblad8- It's the regular points for your weight plus 10.

Hello! I just joined WW last night. I have about 70 pounds to loose. I just had lunch and realized that between breakfast and lunch I've only eaten 6 points and because I'm breastfeeding I get 36 so I eat some pretzels too so now I'm up to 8 points. I need to figure out a good morning and afternoon snack that is full of protein. Any suggestions????? Thanks!

well I'm here late, but at least I'm here! I have been working on WW for about 5-6 months but I'm not always very compliant. Now I am really sticking to it and I am almost to my goal! I actually had about 4 goals and I have achieved 3 of the 4. I now have about 5.5 more lbs to go until I meet my last goal. Yeah! I was beginning to think that last plateau would last forever!!!
Peace and health,
jenny

I'm interested in either this thread or a new one.

I'm doing WW for the 2nd time (I joined last spring, lost 20 pounds, fell off the wagon & gained it all back). I joined with my mother about a month ago and I've lost 10 pounds so far. She's lost 14, which is really great because she has never looked at the way she's eaten before. I learned how to eat from her and slowly gained a lot of weight over the years. I have about 50 more pounds to lose, but I feel really motivated right now. I'm determined to become a healther person for my daughters. I don't want them growing up learning to eat how I did.
