Hey everyone. Congratulations to all of those who had losses this week!

I just came back from my WW at work meeting and I lost 1.6 lbs. I'm .4 away from 10 lbs. since I joined! I was hoping for that ribbon this week but I guess I'll just have to wait

Rainsmom . I keep thinking of you. The positive thing is that you did have a loss this week but I know how frustrated you must feel. Especially with an event like the one you have coming up. Keep in mind that you're doing this for yourself and your health not everyone else. Here's another good article from Dotti's that might give some ideas.

Do you ever make that zero point vegetable soup? That's been a real lifesaver for me, especially when I am really craving chips/prezels/snacky cakes kind of food. Really fills me up and you really can eat as much as you want for zero points. I often have it for a snack when it's what I used to call "chocolate-o'clock" (3 PM-ish) :. If you don't have the recipe I'll be happy to post it.

Everyone is different and I know YMMV but with regard to nursing points. I started the program with the full allotment of nursing points (32 or something outrageous). Someone here mentioned that you were supposed to go to the regular points program when your dc started solids. Since I was already having supply issues I stuck with the nursing points and decided I would drop a few if I stopped losing. I am still losing with the extra nursing points, HOWEVER, I rarely use all of my flexpoints. I actually expected to gain this week because I went over my points on a few days this week (free ice cream at work : ) and used almost all of my flexpoints but thankfully still had a loss. I am also only four weeks into the program so I haven't come up against the inevitable plateau. I think one of the most important things with weight loss and nursing is to take it slow and listen to your body and your dc and let that dictate what works for you. A loss of a pound or less a week is probably much more healthy in the longterm than big drops. JMHO. My first week I lost a big chunk but I know that was because I wasn't pigging out on all the junk I used to eat daily.

T So excited that this is my 100th post!

Also Saturday is my dd's first birthday so I have to do a smilie for her :

Rainsmom, maybe that's your answer! Maybe you have been losing fat, but not losing "weight!"

Snoodess, Happy Birthday to DD!

I haven't read through this thread, and I'm not currently doing WW since I'm pregnant (but I was before and hubby is doing it!), but I have a question!

When is one allowed to start the program again after birth (the breastfeeding program)? ASAP? Do they have a certain number of weeks post birth that they recommend? I can't find the info on their website, and hubby keeps forgetting to ask for me.

I'm sure I won't be there the week I have the baby, but I'm SO anxious to start up again! Oh, and I didn't get a chance to ask when I was going before because I knew within a week that I was pregnant, I was starving already, and so I stopped going without talking to anyone. Then my hubby asked the leader if she could call to answer a few questions, but she turned him down telling him she wasn't allowed to talk to me since I was pregnant. We'll be going to a different meeting/leader when I re-join...

Thanks in advance!

Even though I'm not doing WW now (as mentioned above!) I have a suggestion that came from one of the last meetings I went to pre-wedding and pregnancy.

For those who feel they eat a lot in the morning and then perhaps feel deprived or just not luxurious enough in the points at night, why not try starting your day with dinner?

Hubby says it's even easier to do now with the way this year's journals are configured (they used to specify breakfast, lunch, and dinner).

You just start with dinner. Your second meal is breakfast, which allows you to treat it sort of as lunch, which can often be larger than a person allows their breakfast to be. Then your last meal of the day is lunch, and instead of having to wait ALL NIGHT LONG for your next meal, the next meal will be in a few short hours, so you can tone the lunch down a bit if needed.

Does that make sense? It really really helped me and hubby get mentally on track. We both have problems with feelings of deprivation, and when I'd get to dinnertime and have 5 to 7 points left I would get really bummed. Whereas if I had a nice dinner, went to sleep, had a nice breakfast, then my "last" meal of the journal-day was lunch (smackdab in the middle of two nice meals) I was nowhere near as hungry or deprived-feeling as before.

Hope it makes sense, and I hope it helps someone!

Snoodess, would love to have your chocolate recipe!

Thanks for all the support!

Can I join, too? I lost 17 lbs with WW after my dd was born (she's 14 mths now), but then we moved and life got crazy and here I am. So, I'm ready to get started again. I'm doing the program alone, so it's hard to stay motivated. I have no one to account to!

So, if you don't mind, I'd like to join you.

Current: 140
Goal: 130
Pie in the Sky goal: 125

I workout at the gym about 4 times a week (cardio and weights), but my biggest problem is portion control and drinking enough water.

Good luck, everyone!

If you will allow me a vent...I gained this week for the first time! I ran nine freaking miles on Friday and then a gain of two pounds?? I didn't go crazy over my points, maybe one or two flexpoints here and there. When I was hungrier, I ate a healthy snack like an apple and peanut butter. I can't figure this out! Anybody have any advice? Last week I lost .2, and this week this big gain. Blech.

Sorry, I'm not usually this negative but I'm just frustrated. Plus my mom is getting married in two weeks and I really wanted to have lost some more by then, silly, I know, but it was kind of a milestone for me.

Take care y'all and peace.

mamabeth......Just wanted to say you sound like me!! I havent gained, but I didnt either....And ive got a wedding to go to next week

My sis always says.....if you want to lose fast, cut the carbs...bread, pasta, rice.....You can still eat healthy....and keep exercising!

Check back in next week. Ill be gone at my wedding. Im just greatful I at least lost 8lbs....close to my 10lbs, but still, I was really hoping to go beyond that

Could it be water weight???? Af on the way?? I know its TOTALLY frustrating to work so hard and then have a "gain" on the scales. That happened to me once but then the week after, I lost 3-4 pounds - as if it took a week to catch up. Keep up the good work. Keep going, it will happen for you!!! I need to take my own advice because I am discouraged too. But, I have to keep reminding myself that healthy weight loss takes time.
Thanks y'all. I know it is probably just water weight from the run or whatever. I'm trying not to let it get me down after a very hard day with dd (that's a whole other thread!) and wanting to make some cookie dough...I'll probably settle for some strawberries instead. Anyway it's good to know that somebody else has been there. Good luck for next week, everybody!
Peace.

Hi guys!!

I snuck a peek at the scale last night and I was down 5.5 lbs!!

However that was before DH came home last night from a business trip, and brought home doughnuts this morning, went to red lobster for lunch ( I did get the veggies instead of the fries!! :LOL ) and got chinese food for dinner before he had to go back to the airport for another trip. I feel so sick.. and I still have a slice of cheese cake, 4 doughnuts and left over chinese food in my fridge.

Someone tell me it wouldn't be stupid and wastefully to throw it away.. I would give it to the dog but I think It would make him sick.. :LOL

I am so at myself... but tommorrow I can just get right back on point again... that is as long as someone convinces me to throw all this food out...

Big Loss - Yipee!

Hi Everyone,

I went to my meeting on Saturday morning, and I am down another 2.8 lbs! That's a total of 20.2! I'm so glad after the gain last week. I only used all of my nursing points when I felt that I really needed them and I didn't use any flex points. I'm going to try to do the same this week!

So, here are my new stats -

Height - 5'8"
Starting Weight - 226.2 lbs
Weight at Full Term - 260 lbs
Current Weight - 206 lbs
Goal - 155 - 160 lbs

Keri, It would not be wasteful to throw away food that would sabatoge you! Remember that it's wasteful to eat what you don't need! If you eat something that your body doesn't need, it turns to fat, which is the same as "garbage!"

Have a wonderful week, Everyone!

Good job Jen!!! Sounds like that's working for you with the nursing points and flexpoints...I take some nursing points but have never really taken the flexpoints.

Keri, it's junk food. And what do you do with junk food? If it were, say, an apple, of course you would keep it. but it's junk so if you want, throw it out.
Peace.
I threw it out last night!! I hate when I let DH sabotage me

I've planned out my meals for today and I already workout this morning.. and if its nice out later we will go for a long walk.

Jen- Great Job!!

Keep up the good work everyone!

I had a slight gain this week of .5 pounds. I am bummed. I know some of it is water weight 'cuase my fingers are a bit swollen - it still s**** though!!

I really went off program these weekend with lattes and bagels! This week I am really going to try to stay away from using my flex points.

I have a question regarding the activity points. I am a city girl ( brooklyn jen) so I walk alot anyways. I have been really trying to go for about 40 minutes a day with the baby in addition to what I normally do. The thing is I walk so much that I feel that my body is used to this form of excercise (even when I walk briskly non stop for 40 mins). Do you think I should still be tracking these activity points?

New here!!

I am so glad I found this thread! I *love* weight watchers! To me it doesn't seem like a diet at all, just portion control. And if I blow it sometimes, it never really seems to affect my weight loss. Me and DH do it together and we have 1 meal a week of whatever we want. I think we have learned what to eat to stay full, if I just eats lots of low point high carb snacks I do NOT stay full at all.

One of my favorite and fillling things to eat for breafast is 1 mini bagel, 1 whole wedge of laughing cow cheese (that is the best stuff) and 5 slices of thin ham (Hillshire Farms I think) all that for 3.5 points! I have to have protein for breakfast with carbs or else I am shaking and starving mad in an hour. Another thing I really like is some good either homemade or other 100% whole wheat bread with 1 tablespoon of natural peanut butter (I toast the bread so the peanut butter melts).

I am also still nursing my 2.5 year old but I do not use any of my nursing points unless I find myself just starving, then I will add in another 3-4 point snack or eat extra free veggies with some cheese melted on top.

Who here is doing either the "old" way of WW or the Flex Points?

Hi all! We've been out of town, and I haven't caught up on all of the posts here. But I had to come tell you that I heard the Duchess of York speak today!! Sarah Ferguson came to Cincinnati today and led a "megameeting" that was open to WW members, staff, and guests.

Her story was very inspirational. She told us how WW has taught her how to live successfully. She spoke of the demons that she still fights, and how the Weight Watchers Tools for Living get her through the rough spots.

Hearing her speak, I was reminded of how Weight Watchers is so much more than just a points system or an eating plan. It really is a positive way of living that affects every aspect of my life.

Hope you all are having a great day!

I finally did it. Joined WW online. I had to lie and say I wasn't nursing but I'll never get to meetings so I have to do it online. I can't believe I'm doing this. My mom was on WW when I was young and I always swore I would never "have" to be. Argh, youth. Anyway, I'm here and will need lots of support. I have little willpower and enjoy coffee with treats.

Yay, Amy!

To tell you the truth, NOBODY has willpower. It's not something that us humans are equipped with. I think the big thing for me has been a realization that I don't have any willpower and I have major emotional issues with food. Keeping the emotional part of me in check has helped so much. There's actually really good info in Dr Phil's weight loss book about this. A friend of mine does a 12-step program for people with food addictions and she talks me out of my "I have no willpower" speech every time!

In other words, you are human and you can do anything you set your mind to! You will have moments of "failure", but that's the beauty of success!

Back on to the thread, I HATE my scale. It's a dial scale and I think my daughter has played with the calibration. Ugh. Anyway, it's weighing me heavier at times. Luckily, I've been to the doc twice in the past week and her scale shows that I've lost a total of 9.5 pounds now, 1.5 pounds since last Tuesday. I'm definitely wanting a digital scale. It's hard to read the dial when every pound counts.

I just bought a WW online membership for a friend of mine, so hopefully we can be buddies and support each other IRL.

I'm finding this really easy - much easier than I imagined. What I'm also noticing is how LESS hungry I am nowdays. Since I'm almost starting my third week, I don't have that low blood sugar I'm-starving-now-so-must-eat-whatever-is-in-front-of-me mode. It's weird. I'm also drinking so much more water. Like 2-3 quarts a day. Hey! Just what I recommend to my clients! Imagine that!

OK, I'm officially on day 1. I'm confused already, :LOL When I count the points for my breakfast cereal I'm assuming that doesn't count the points for the milk I put on it, right?
