Went ahead and ordered the tea kettle yesterday. I am looking forward to lots of hot tea on these cold mornings. I picked up our co-op food order this morning and need to sort out all of our bulk food. And then or course, cook something with all of these bags of rice and beans and spices. Counting today as a
since I had budgeted for this and even came in under budget!

Ok, I blew it! It has been a stressful week, involving unaccounted-for expenses both necessary and unnecessary
! But- the bills are paid! Depending how long it takes for one check to come in, I might possibly be a few days late for the daycare payment the last week of the month, but other than that we will squeak by with everything on time! I really came here to write a "throw in the towel" post but, I will continue!!!! I can't expect to make better estimates if I don't stick to it and keep track!

a. Who you are: Christi, working mom to 2 kids with a dh who is a full time student
b. Where you are going (your financial goals): pay off credit card by June, car by December, 2nd mortgage by 2014, primary mortgage by 2016. Never be in debt again after that.
c. How you plan to get there: Already doing a lot: no cable, no cleaning products, no paper towels. Could do more. Currently have the 2 kids in Montessori because the public schools suck and we don't have time to homeschool, so that is eating up a good portion of our monthly $$. Longing for the day when DH goes to work, but he's on the "10 year plan" (and no, he won't be a doctor).
Not sure I can keep up with the thread, but I'll give it a go.

While I know Dave Ramsey would say we should snowball the payment, DH and I have decided to save it so that by the end of the year, when DH will be needing a replacement, we'll have a down payment saved up.

How did it turn out? I have cut my kids' hair for years now and do a pretty good job now. They had a few wonky cuts when they were young -- I was inexperienced and they wiggled like mad.
Hey! Where is everybody??
Dh and I sat down and went over our money for the next year. Yes, we are geeky like that. Looks like I will be spending 2012 on these no-spend threads. We have some huge goals and my lovely dh is completely on board with the plan. No vacations or summer camps this year, but if all goes well, we will pay our taxes, pay off our credit cards, pay off the van, fund the emergency fund and have cash for Christmas. Whew! And then we will be set up to pay cash for a new roof in 2013. I should make peace with my old sneakers...I will be wearing them for a long time to come.
Took the kids for a swim at the YMCA and I spent a few hours getting the garden shaped up -- peas, spinach and beets are planted. Nice no-spend day and happy, healthy kids.

I'm still here. We visited family away for the long weekend, didn't have a chance to update.
