The AWESOME ONE Thread - February 2012

This thread is for members of the ONE thread from the Trying to Conceive forum. Some of you have started similar threads in the DDCs but this is an all-inclusive, cross-DDC thread. We have all made connections and friendships with ladies who got BFPs before or after us so this can be a central thread for us to catch up and for those on the other side of the One thread to keep up with us!

In bold, please tell me: Name, Due Date, how long it took you to conceive and what you went through to conceive, what "number" child this will be, and anything else you would like to add.

Writinglove, conceived the old-fashioned way in one month, #1

Due February 2012

19-OdinsMommy0409 (Laura), got pregnant on the second cycle after a chemical pregnancy, planning a HBAC with boy #2!

Due March 2012

28-tantylynn (Teesha), after 20 cycles (1st cycle of Clomid), #1 

Due April 2012

13-belacmsage (Bela),  26, tried 6 months with opks, fertility monitor, preseed, vitex, soy, b-6 and male fertility drugs too! Finally, left it up to DH to decide when to DTD, did it A LOT and got her BFP!

26-vivica2, tried for 1 1/2 years, went through 1 m/c, 4 rounds of clomid, progesterone, instead cups, bbt chart, soy isoflavones, and on and on and on.... can't wait to get fat and grumpy!  #3

Due May 2012

7-BubbleMa (Sarah), TTC for about 5 cycles (seems like much longer though).  We used a calendar to track fertility and DTD accordingly.  We also used Pre-Seed, and I took Maca, and EPO.  Baby #2 for me, #3 for So, our first together!

8-RenoKirbyButtrs (Jamie), got BFP on second month trying after 11 years! on BC, #1

8- MeredithA

11-km84, this will be our first

12-janellody (Janelle), #1, got her BFP on the first month trying after several months charting

Due June 2012

2- CorgiMommy, expecting a little boy after a 2nd tri loss.

6-kylie1 (Kylie), pregnant after 11 months of straight trying, on-and-off trying for about three years or so, with acupuncture twice and lots and lots of charts!  #4 (#3 for her and #2 for him)

6-AndtheStars (Maria), expecting #2, trying for 3 months, NTNP for...shrug, who knows.

26-GradStudent13, expecting #1 after three months of trying

Due July 2012

9 - reelala (Sarah), trying for 3 months, Baby #1 for us, YAY!

12 - scowgirl (Jennifer), conceived on the 4th try using RRL tea, 100 mg B6, preseed and instead cups, #1, 

25 - Deborah Kelly, TTC #1 for 9 months, BFP on 11/18/2011, we did IVF, I have endometriosis, Hashimoto's disease (antibodies against thyroid gland that results in hypothyroid) and diminished ovarian reserve, had a very scary retrieval but managed to retrieve and transfer 2 embryos, one survived, which we found out became identical twins!!!

28- I'm Belia- #2 - we conceived on our second month with charting.

Due August 2012

20- FeralFox (Tris), due with #2 on the first try!

Due September 2012

1- MamanFrancaise- Expecting #3 after 3 months TTC

19- Mamaforever- Expecting #2, conceived two cycles after a m/c with the help of charting and B6 to lengthen LP.

19- Carlin- Expecting #2 after 5 months charting and only early loss in October.

Hi! Thanks for the new thread.

Stephanie has been very, very needy yesterday and today! She skipped her nap yesterday to EAT and woke up an extra time during the night to EAT. I haven't had her out of arms much at all unless laying down feeding her counts. DH ordered pizza for supper last night because it was a disaster in here! He's great, he knows a mess means I've been busy all day and he doesn't bother me about it a bit. He's been working 10 and 11 hour days and he still comes home happy and ready to hold the baby and talk with the big kids. This morning, DS was talking to the baby and made her giggle! She was holding his finger and he was pretending he was trying to pull it away and saying "Ouch!! Owwwiiee you're squishing my finger! I can't escape!" and she did a little belly laugh!! He's going to be trying that a lot now, he was so excited! So cute!

I have been on Diclectin for morning sickness since Monday and I feel GREAT! I can eat... anything! Everything still smells bad but I'm no longer nauseous. I am so, so, so relieved. I missed 2 weeks of work! On to the good part of pregnancy!

Deborah~ thanks, I'm happy he loves her so much. Before she was born, he was convinced she was a boy and he said he wouldn't hold the baby if it was a girl, so... phew!

AFM: We came down to Georgia for the weekend to visit my parents. Conner decided he HATES carseats. Oh. My. God. It's a 7-hour trip. He cried for 6. The other hour was little power naps here and there. Talk about a headache.

We're also still waiting on our tax refund. O_o Where's My Refund originally said it'd be deposited on/around January 31st, now it says, "Within 6 weeks". W.T.F. So annoying. I'm paying all of our unpaid hospital bills with this refund, so I'd like to be able to do that before they start getting pissy about it. Lalala. Waiting.

TTC~ maybe the car seat needs to be adjusted? There were a few times I didn't realize my big kids were getting cranky in the car because their seat was smooshing them a bit too much. They just grow so fast!

I'm SO GLAD it's Friday... between DH's long days and Stephanie having a growth spurt this week, the house is falling apart! Tomorrow, he can play with her and I can clean all the things!

Cute story Mummoth! I hope Connor responds as well to baby #2 when she's born in about 10 weeks.

Maman: glad to hear you are feeling better.

TTC: That sucks. Have you tried putting up a mirror that he can see into?

AFM: 10 weeks or so left here. Starting to get things for the baby and organize the house more. I have one more appointment left with the OB before I switch exclusively to the midwife. I am so glad I don't have to deal with them for much longer.

He does have a mirror. And toys. LOL The mirror even sings!

How could I adjust the seat to be more comfortable? The straps aren't tight or anything. I was able to keep him happy today from house to grocery store, but only because I let him suck on my finger the.whole.time.

Beautiful announcement, MommyM! She's gorgeous.

And Conner continues to be so cute... I am intrigued by the Moby wrap. Shockingly, their website makes it look really cool.  I know nothing about babywearing, but I know I did not enjoy lugging my niece around in her car seat carrier. I always felt like I was going to bump her on something, and I had no hands free to do anything. Do you tie it on ahead of time and then just put him in it when you get where you're going?

I just put in on when I get to my destination before getting him out of the car. It only takes a minute once you've practiced enough. I actually nursed him while shopping yesterday for the first time! IT WAS AWESOME. Hands free nursing. I honestly never take his carseat anywhere except from house to car and back. It's amazing.

I actually learned how to put it on from a YouTube video, too. =)

Also, =D, HE ROLLED OVER TODAY. He fell asleep on his belly, woke up on his back... Then he was on the living room floor and went from back to belly. I AM SO PROUD right now!

MommyM...ooooo!  She is the cutest thing ever.  I want one.  With that much hair.

I loved babywearing in the grocery store too.  I always felt more with it than the moms with the carrier in the cart so they had no room for groceries or on top where it looked like it was going to fall off at any moment.  Apologies if any of you are the moms who do either of those things.  Seriously, try babywearing next time.  It makes things so much better.

Mummoth, I really, really hope that DS is as awesome to the new baby as your DS seems to be.  My DS hugs and kisses the baby now but I'm not sure that things will be as rosy once he sees the baby using "his nurses".

MamanF, Yay for eating!  And not puking!

AFM,  yeah, I'm just a slacker.  I work, I cook dinner, I play with DS, I sleep (sort of), I do dishes...that about sums it up.  On a positive note, I think I found a doula I like and shes certified with the TENS machine.  And she has one!  I'm in love!  Any of you with prior labors use one?  I used it when I was recovering from a back injury and it was heaven.  I think I that could get through 14 hours of back labor this time if I've got one.
