Janellody, Yay on the 3rd tri!  I'm glad someone else experiences these weird things and wants to talk about them on the internets! orngtongue.gif

How's everybody else?  I lurked over on the ONE Thread and didn't see one pregnancy listed for February!  Poor girls!  They need some BFP's.

Here's a QOTD:  How bad do you think it would be for the baby if I had a McD's Shamrock Shake?  They have artificial everything and no redeeming qualities except that I think they are delicious.

I think your LO would looooooove a Shamrock Shake!  They're so GREEN!  And a sign that spring is coming!  drool.gif  Dooooooo it!

I think a shamrock shake would be okay as long as you don't spike it with creme de menthe :)

We're okay... last night Stephanie was really upset though. She didn't want to nurse and just wanted to cuddle and suck her soother, which she will usually never take for me. When I went to changer her diaper her tummy looked swollen up! It was a little unnerving because she had her immunizations the day before. She seemed to feel good with her diaper off so we let her lay in her change table for a while and watched her kick like crazy! When I got her dressed again I put her diaper on really loose and into a sleeper instead of pants so there'd be no pressure on her tummy.  don't know what that was all about but she's back to normal today.

When Conner got his shots, I gave him a niceeeeeeeeee longggggggggggg bath before bed. That seemed to help him relax a LOT.

Oh lord. If only a Shamrock Shake were the worst thing I had ingested so far during my pregnancy. (Don't worry, no alcohol or drugs, just crappy food). My "baseline" diet for the day is pretty healthy with plenty of protein and fruits/veggies (usually) but it's the stuff I snack on that is a problem. sulkoff.gif

I told myself I would eat a perfect healthy diet while pregnant, but it turns out I have no willpower...

Mummoth, poor girl!  Did she have any gas after the kicking?  I know that when DS got bloated like that he just need to kick it out.  We had a game we did where we'd bicycle his legs slowly and say "bicycle, bicycle" and then do it fast and say "motorcycle, motorcycle".  He thought it was hilarious.  We'd just keep doing it until he, ahem, got it all out.  The shots the day before would freak me out too though.  I'm happy to hear that a good night's sleep in comfy pj's did the trick.  That sounds divine to me!

scowgirl, I know exactly what you mean about snacks.  I have a pretty healthy diet (I mean, compared to the standard American diet) all the time but pregnancy just kills me.  Chocolate and pastry.  I always feel the worst about the artifical colors and flavors because who knows what they do to kids.  Alcohol doesn't even really bother me.  Once I hit 3rd tri, I'll have a small glass of wine or half a beer once a week or so.  I try to keep my unhealthy eating to sugar/fat/chocolate stuff because that, at least, is natural substances.  Not things that I should indulge in as much as I do, but natural at least.

Blah....I'm rambling because I have the cold from hell.  I seriously feel like I'm going to die.  I actually googled whether or not you could have meningitis and a runny nose at the same time with no fever because my neck and head hurt sooooo bad.  Good news, not meningitis, bad news, I would kill for a mega dose of ibuprofen.  Tylenol just doesn't cut it.

CD'sMom~ oooohh, name change, nice! Stephanie has been hit and miss about the bath... she seems to enjoy it for a few minutes but by the time I get her dried off and dressed she's usually crying. I've started getting her undressed and putting her on a towel on the floor while I quickly shower, and then I bring her in and wash her up. She seems to like that the best, she doesn't even mind when the water sprays all over her head. She sticks out her tongue a lot to catch drips, lol!

AndtheStars~ she spit up and burped a few times, but she didn't pass any gas with the kicking, that we could tell anyway. I play stand up/sit down with her sometimes to get things moving... DH was giggling at me one night because when it worked I asked "Oh no! Do you think this is a shitty game?" He thinks I'm off my nut.

And ouch! I hope you feel better soon!

As for artificial colours, I think that red is the most common. It makes DD's eczema flare up and turns her friend into a little monster! I haven't heard of green being an issue for people, though you can have a sensitivity or allergy to virtually anything.

I'm annoyed today because I got all ready to walk over to my moms and then couldn't find my keys to lock up. I think DS might have them at school, the last time I remember having them I gave them to him to run ahead because he had to pee. The weather is going to be crap this weekend, but today is a nice sunny day so I wanted to take advantage of it. Maybe we'll stay at the school ground for a bit and play when I pick up the kids.

Mummoth- Blue dye makes me break out like crazy in hives. Still figuring out what caused rashes with my patches, but my guess is also a dye there. It had yellow and black. I suspect it was the black dye since yellow only rarely bothers me.

AFM- 18 weeks 2 days today. Time is flying and the belly is growing! I forgot to mention that the shirt is funny. It says "You squish her bladder while I kick her ribs!"

Deborah~ I'm not sure if this is true for the things you've reacted to, but I learned with DD that sometimes things that look blue or yellow actually have red dye in them, too. I'm not sure about black. I never figured it out completely... DD can have cheezies no problem, but cheese flavoured chips will make her break out in a rash in about 5 minutes flat, and they appear to have the same/similar dyes in them.

At least more medicines are being made without dyes now, I used to have to give DD1 benedryl with tylenol suspension because it had red dye that made her massively flare up. She's big enough to take one regular strength tablet now, I was so glad when she finally weighed enough that I didn't have to give her the dyed chewable children's tylenol anymore (it's cheaper this way, too)

Oh and Deborah you're really popping now, that's one thing I miss... I loved my pregnant belly :) And that's a cute shirt! I only had a glow in the dark skeleton one for Halloween... I was thinking of wearing it on April Fools but I think I might be a  little too sensitive if I actually sucker someone in. Stephanie is my last baby and I'm sort of surprised that I don't really feel okay with that. I've had lots of people asking if we'll have another one lately, too. Are you at the bumping into things stage yet?

lol I have had so many milkshakes since being pregnant, i wouldn't think twice before a shamrock shake.. if I liked them.  I was on a milkshake kick for awhile, just REALLY wanted them!!  I am past that luckily.  I am eating healthy for the most part but still crave desserts all the time, which is dangerous...

Mummoth- I don't seem to react to red dye, but it's awful stuff in general so I try to avoid it anyway. Now that I think about it, black dye would likely have blue dye in it.  So, that's a good point. Yeah, I think week 17-week 18 were a huge jump in the bump. LOL. I have not quite bumped into things, but DH had to pick me up off the floor. I'm having trouble climbing stairs (short of breath), and I need help getting in and out of chairs. I wasn't quite ready for all that to happen- thought I had a couple weeks, but I'm thrilled for the two little reasons in my belly. The nurse said being short of breath after just a few stairs is normal at this stage even with a singleton. I felt two little punches/kicks just under my ribs yesterday. I think one of the twins was climbing on top of the other. Outside of that, I've been feeling flutters since week 15 and they are getting more regular.

AndTheStars, I really hope you feel better. That cold sounds absolutely awful. I hate how we can't take anything effective for a cold/flu right now. irked.gif

Deborah, glad you said that about stairs. Of course I'm heavy anyway, but I've been going to the gym pretty regularly and I still get out of breath by the top of our stairs at home. Never mind the stairs at the gym, which there are more of, and I'm supposed to go up and down them 5 times to warm up for my weight lifting. By the 3rd time I'm sure I look like I'm dying. It's embarrassing!

In other "me" news I stepped on the scale this morning to discover that I have gained 15 pounds now (20 weeks). Yikes! I don't feel like I'm eating much more than I normally would, but then I normally eat a lot, so who knows. That was not the number I was hoping to see.

Scowgirl- My OB's nurse advised me to put away the home scale and only let them weigh me or I'd drive myself crazy. It might be something you want to consider unless you were specifically told otherwise. Also, if you are working out that much, you need to be eating quite a bit and don't forget that muscle weighs considerably more than fat.

I NEVER weighed myself while I was pregnant, and I never let them tell me when I went to the doctor. I stood on the scale backwards. The ONLY time I weighed myself was when I got admitted, because I wanted a before birth and after birth weight to see how much of my weight gain was JUST Conner. (Which was 22 pounds, BTW!!!)

Here's Conner in February (3 months old!) He'll be 4 months in just a few days. He's rolling, "talking", laughing out loud, holding his head up like a champ... And he stood up in his new bouncer for the first time last night!!!

Now if only I could get my awesome baby that slept through the night back.............................................................. I'm over the 2-hour power naps in-between feedings. Where did my 12-hour sleeper go?!?! WAH!

Thanks guys. When you are at my BMI, they fixate on your weight gain and it messes with my head sometimes.

Conner is looking fantastic! I swear you have one of the most photogenic babies ever. The second and third photos just melt my heart.

CD'sMom, Super cute pictures!  He is such a champ!  Sorry about the sleep.  DS was always an awful sleeper so I never got those beautiful stretches of solid sleep.  I think that Connor is playing a mean trick on you.  To make you think that you were getting an awesome sleeper and then, surprise!

scowgirl, seriously, pay no attention to your weight, I mean besides what you would want to pay to it if you weren't pregnant.  I am a firm believer that your body knows what it's doing as far as weight is concerned as long as you are eating a normal diet.  I am an average size when not pregnant (wear 8/10) clothing and I gained 42 lbs (actually could have been more) with DS.  I started out this preganancy 5lbs heavier than when I got pregnant with DS.  I have already gained 31 lbs with this kidlet.  I just figure I will have to nurse extra hard to lose the weight.  Notice I didn't say work out.  Please don't worry, 15lbs is not alot regardless of where you started out.

janellody, Cute!  you look so glowy and pregnant!  Did you have fun at your shower?

deborah, I forgot to say how good you look.  I love that you are taking weekly pictures.  It's going to be so much fun to look back.  I'm also excited to see the final result(s)winky.gif

AFM, still sick, though not as bad.  I'm making baked macaroni and cheese tonight.  That's my big news. yummy.gif

Thanks guys, yes my shower was so fun!!  I was looking forward to it foreverrrr and my friends really did a good job putting it on :)  I feel like with each of these milestones, i am closer and closder to meeting my baby boy!   Next weekend is my birthing class at the hospital, so that is exciting too!  I am almost 30 weeks along.... almost there!!

AndtheStars... mac and cheese IS big news!!
