Eating/Supplement Schedule

So this is a bit self-serving- I just wanted a place to jot down an ideal schedule for eating.  With the two kids running around, I tend to forget about myself until I am spacey and exhausted.  And now that I'm anemic, I really need to remember to take the Floradix to get my numbers up before the birth!  I thought I'd share and invite others to do the same.

7am- BREAKFAST, prenatal

10am- Floradix

10:30- snack

12:00- LUNCH

1:45- probiotics

2:15- snack, CLO

3:30- Floradix

4:00- snack

6pm- DINNER, prenatal

8pm- snack, liquid cal/mag

9:00pm- snack, 1/4 tab of unisom, bed

Geesh!  No wonder I wanted to write it all down.

Wow, that seems so reasonable!  Mine looks more like this lately:

8:00 Breakfast

9:00 Snack while doing last minute homework

10-11:30 Snack during first class

11:30-1 Snack during second class

3:00 Lunch

5:00 Dinner

7:00 Snack

8:00 Dessert

9:00 Another dessert

12:00 A midnight snack

Sometime in the middle of the night: Milk and crackers

LOL

Your schedule looks good. I need to try to stick to a more structured schedule in order to space my supplements that have calcium and the Floradix from each other and stop taking TUMS because I think all the TUMS I've been consuming is affecting my iron absorption. Thanks for sharing!

I have realized from these that maybe I need to snack more. With DS I was eating every 2 hrs but this time around I just don't feel hungry and can only eat so much when I am hungry. blah. Snack ideas? I usually want some fruit, some yogurt, carrots and hummus, a muffin, or cookies.

8:39- breakfast- omega 3s and vit D

12- lunch- omega 3s and vit D

2- sometimes snack

530- dinner

9- snack- prenatal vit

bedtime- probiotics

I'm struggling with separating my calcium and iron, too.

8:00--breakfast--try to incorporate blackstrap molasses, no dairy, and Hema-plex (iron supp)

10:30--snack if we eat late lunch, no snack if we eat early lunch

11:00 or 12:00--lunch, include beans or dairy

2:30/3:00--snack

5:30/6:00--dinner, pre-natal

10:30/11:00--pre-bed snack, take pre-natal if i forgot at dinner time

90% of the reason we have a "schedule" is because DD really needs it.  Not sure that I would eat as frequently if it weren't for her, but usually I'm finishing up her food as my "meal" except for dinner.

I'm struggling to find the right time to include dairy, because its a staple here.  I love cheeses and yogurt, and DD loves them for snack.

A collection of snakc ideas is a good idea.  Here are my faves this week:

dried pineapple and handful of almonds

bagel with veggie cream cheese

apple with cheddar cheese

cottage cheese with canned peaches (when I'm feeling fancy, i make crepes to fill with this)

granola with dried cherries and almonds

tortilla with salami and cheddar cheese inside

garbanzo beans from the can with a bit of lemon or lime juice and a sprinkle of sea salt-- yum!

I recently had to nix all the whole wheat bread and crackers I'd been eating, as I figured out it was what was causing my indigestion!  So weird!

Does anyone know if Tums have aluminum in them?

it should say on the label.  are you taking them for the calcium or for heartburn?  calcium carbonate (tums) is one of the least absorbable calciums out there, the citrate form is better. personally, i prefer magnesium for heartburn (most people are low on mag anyways)

What i have been living on lately, to avoid heartburn:

Mx 4 tbsp ground flax seeds, 3 egg whites, 1/2 scoop whey protein, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1/4 c old fashioned oats, and 1/4 c canned pumpkin.....blend up or stir well, I add pumpkin pie spice and stevia, then make into pancakes.  I top with a little natural peanut butter.  I am seriously eating this for 3-4 of the 7-8 mini-meals a day I am eating.

Good to know.  I'm dying from heartburn right now and pumpkin pancakes sound pretty good.

moss, do you think magnesium in a cal/mag supplement would do any good for same-day relief?  Sorry if that's an amateur question....

Just had to add a couple more:

microwaved yams with butter and brown sugar

and this... my new favorite recipe!  simple custards made out of egg, milk, and maple syrup.
