I'm looking for good quality probiotic that my whole family can use. Any recommendations?
Also interested in digestive enzymes. TIA!
THe best tasting probiotic I have ever had was one I made myself.... a water based kefir and I fermented a combination of welch's grape juice and coconut water.
It's hard to maintain consistency though.
The probiotics you make yourself are usually very powerful because they are so fresh. I would advise eating some live probiotic thing with every meal.
HMF Probiotics are the strongest on the market. You can google it and find it many places. We drink raw kefir and yogurt and they probiotics are really strong. One thing your kids may drink that has probiotics is a cultured whey drink. Add the whey (liquid ) on the top of yogurt to some organic juice. we use grape juice. Then they are getting the probiotics and it is really good. This should be cheaper.
I let some raw milk sit on the counter for 3-4 days until the whey separates, I strain it and we drink some of the whey with breakfast, in a bit of juice, everyday. I also make very low temp raw yogurt and cream cheese, retaining the bacterias. This is new for us and I'm thrilled b/c I was also looking for a good probiotic but this is so much cheaper!
Another vote for Klaire Labs probiotics...at least for the kids. We use their infant powder and their chewables for our 2 yr old. We also try to get probiotics into them via food...Bubbie's pickles and saurkraut. But I'm not sure how reliable those are and so the Klaire Labs probiotics insure that they're getting what they need. The adults in our house take the Mercola probiotics. Sometimes the powder in juice and sometimes the capsules. Both seem to make me feel/function better.
