The Feds estimate was correct!  Refund deposited yesterday!

My federal says I will have my refund by Thursday; my state is still being processed. We have had numerous fraud violations of people filing for convicts and getting back thousands (one was a police officer at my school and his CPA wife! $175K they defrauded from the government). Anyway, the state is rolling out new identity software to prevent this type of thing from happning, so I imagine this is holding up a few returns.

We have always had to claim our federal or state refund as income the following year. We also get to deduct any taxes paid.

My state is looking at doing away with state income tax! I really hope we do.

Delayed refunds are indeed and totally frustrating. Most especially when you're expecting it to use for some stuffs or pay for some debts. It's annoying when you can't have them on the time they should be on your hands. [Admin note: Link removed as promotional posting of commerical sites is not allowed.] Payday loans helps, though. They help cover up with these annoying moments and save you temporarily. Anyway, you can always repay right away once you get your refund. :)

Where's My Refund said my federal would be deposited today, but it went in last night. I filed last Sunday (the 10th), I think. And it was accepted the next day. Still waiting for state, I haven't looked to see when to expect it.

Turbo Tax told me March 5th, but the IRS says Monday! Woohoo!
