Any ideas?

Let me start with a back story...

I got pregnant back in June and ended up miscarrying at almost 6 weeks. I kind of had a feeling I was going to end up being preggo because my boobs were sore the day after ovulation and it was on the sides and aroudnt he nips. and that never happens I also had this pain in my lower left back that was unusual.

I had my last period Jan 5-9 and was due to O on the 18th or 19th. I did have intercourse throughout my fertile week. I believe that I O'd on the 18th, the next day again I had sore bb's and the pain in my back. As well as being overly emotional. I started to get very excited. I was due to start my period on Feb. 1 and low and behold it came, although I didn't have any cramps. I had what I would call heavy bleeding for me for about 24 hours and then it stopped I had sex and i started bleeding again. The weird part is that I am still having sore bb's, which never happens, usually the bb's hurting and the lower back pain stop the day I get my period. I also have still been very emotional but that could just be because I wanted so badly to be preggo. I took hpt up until Jan 31 and all neg. Any possibility of pregnancy? I know i'm probably just hoping but my boobs still being sore is very weird to me. Any ideas?

It sounds to me that you likely had AF and are therefore not pregnant.  Though it is possible to bleed and still be pregnant, it is not common to to have AF-like bleeding, usually it's more like spotting.  Do you chart your basal body temperature and cervical fluid to confirm when you O'd?  If you did indeed O on the 18th then you took the HPT on 13DPO (days past ovulation) and you should have gotten an accurate result.  It is possible that you had a chemical pregnancy where the embryo didn't have enough time to implant before the uterine lining was shed (this happens with late implantation and/or short luteal phase).  Your hCG levels would, therefore, have been too low to test positive, but could have still caused a few symptoms to arise if you're pretty sensitive.  But there is an easy way to confirm if you are or are not pregnant... just take another test.  At 16DPO you should get accurate results unless you are 1% of women that take longer to test positive or "fail" HPT's.

Again, since you did bleed, I think it is unlikely that you are pregnant, but if you did not O when you think you did and O'd later in your cycle, then it could still be too early to test.  It's most likely that the symptoms you are experiencing are due to normal hormonal fluctuations that also caused your slightly unusual AF.  But if you still have a feeling that you're pregnant, you could always test again in a few weeks if AF doesn't show.  Good luck and if it turns out you're not pregnant and you'd like to learn more about charting, just post!

Thanks for the response. No I don't chart so I don't know exactly when I o'd. I was just going off the days, So it is possible I o'd later then the 18th, Usually I can feel the o pains but not this time so I wasn't sure. And I figured it was my period and now I have started bleeding heavier again. I just though it odd that my boobs we're still sore. But thanks again for taking the time to repost.

It could have been a chemical pregnancy, which could cause heavier than usual bleeding and other symptoms.  Chemical pregnancies are pretty common and most women don't know they are even having them b/c they don't chart and/or test early enough.  Again, if you'd like to start charting, just post for some help!
