Is it really Monday already? That weekend flew by way too fast. I did not come out of it feeling relaxed at all. Too many errands to fit into not enough time. I only had a half day for orientation today, but I really didn't get much done with the rest of the day besides getting a run in. Which is nothing to sneeze at, but would have liked to get more done. And I'm tired. DS clearly does not like mommy working "normal business hours", as he has been in my bed (and hogging it) for the last three nights.
I can't believe that I don't think I mentioned this here, but I think it fell through the cracks of heading to Mexico...so, remember how I said that I was going to concentrate on running for my training for NYC, and probably not do too much tri training this year? Well, I got an email a week or so ago that I qualified for USAT nationals. I have no idea how that happened. My theory? Whoever sent the email was very, very drunk. Apparently, I qualified at the sprint tri where I got 2nd in my AG (which is interesting, since there was a sprint AND an oly there, but I did the sprint...yet qualified for oly nationals?). So, now I have a dilemma. I was going to take it easy on tris this summer. There are about sixteen other races I wanted to do in August (nationals is 8/18), including a mud run that SMIL asked me to do with her in Ohio, which is the weekend before. It will be $$$ to travel for a tri (it's in Burlington, VT), which is why I've never done it. BUT. I may (probably) never, ever, ever, qualify for nationals ever again. So even though I will probably finish DFL, I kind of feel like I should do it, ya know? And I probably need to decide pretty soon, since it does sell out. I think I'm probably going to go for it, but I just need to figure out if I can swing that AND the mud run with SMIL work-wise, since I would feel uber-guilty ditching her for nationals.
rr~The temperature was perfect for running today. So I went to the Y and ran on the treadmill. There were ridiculous winds today, and I just couldn't handle the thought of running with that kind of wind. 4 and a quarter-ish miles, accompanied by Spaceballs....a good mindless treadmill movie.
