I measured my Radian (65, which apparently is the same size as the new R100) and Nautilus this morning. I was in a bit of a rush, so the figures may not be precise, but they should give you a general idea. The Nautilus was about 19.5" at its widest point (across the lap/armrests); the Radian was about 17-18". So not all that much difference! I was surprised. hth! Let me know if you'd like any other details, or photos or whatever--I'd be glad to help.

I am so excited. I think I will be able to order my Combi Coccoro early next week. (I will be using loyalty points earned for something at work so it won't cost us any $$.)

I am happy to get something so important without having to ask anyone or lay out any money.

Next purchase to contemplate...breast pump....

I got cherry red. We're having a girl but even if we have another boy in the future, it would work fine for a boy too :)
I ordered through kohls.com -- their regular price is $250, sale price is $225... 30% off coupon makes it $157.50 plus tax = $163. PLUS I got $30 kohl's cash to spend, so we got my husband new shoes for free. Amazon's lowest price is $173 only for chestnut. just under 200 for the rest.

It's too bad you don't have much for color choice, but the nice thing about the carrot orange is that it's lighter colored and won't get as hot in the sun.

I ordered mine this weekend. It didn't cost me any money so I have to appreciate that. I guess I'll get it in the next week or so. I was thinking that spit up won't show so much on the orange, either. LOL. I can only hope this one won't spit up as much as the last one. DD was not "uncomfortably gassy" but sure spit up a lot!

can't argue with free!
ha! never thought about spit up :) ew! lol

So now I'm starting to second guess the True Fit for our cars (though I suppose there is really no reason to be worrying about this right this second as we do plan to use a bucket seat). I was reading some reviews, and the True Fit is said to be really big, and I hadn't really thought about the issue of it possibly obscuring the rear view from the car (we have a Ford Focus station wagon and a Prius). There isn't a ton of leg room in either car's passenger seat either, so maybe it won't even fit. That means maybe the Cocorro is a better choice. On the other hand, our child is reasonably likely to be either tall (DH and me both) or stocky (me) so the 40-lb weight limit could make this seat a poor value for us. I guess we need to go to the baby store and see if they will let us take the True Fit out to the car to see if it will fit OK.

Ha, so guess what WE still haven't done yet? Bought a carseat, of course! Ugh.

After doing loads of research, I'm really not into the idea of buying a brand new infant seat. It lasts for such a short period of time, run almost as expensive as convertible seats, and will probably put a cramp in my babywearing style. My partner wants one because I think he is less keen on slinging the baby around, and wants to be able to unclick the seat from the base and plop it into a stroller.

I've just now proposed buying a convertible seat (I'm kind of in love with the Maxi-Cosi Pria seats) for my car, and then getting a gently-used infant seat and base for his pickup. What do you guys think?

If you have a trusted friend or family member who can assure you that the infant seat has been used properly and never been in a wreck that is probably fine, otherwise no used seats from any unknown sources - garage sales, thrift store, etc...You can not know their history and will have no way of knowing whether they are safe or not.

Also check the safety forum, there is a thread currently going about why it is not a good idea to leave infants in their seats for longer periods of time.

We got a myride65 for this one. It was around $100 dollars on sale. I looked at some infant seats last week, thinking I might put my 3yo in the myride for awhile but you are right about the price! I think we will just go ahead and get her a nautilus and continue with the plan for putting baby in the myride.
