need advice- signs show pregnancy but negative test

I don't know how to go about this but I need insight. My period is always regular. I can count it like clock work. But my last period was Dec. 28 to Jan. 6. It has not showed up. I had two days of spotting on Jan.30 and Jan. 31 and that was it, which is abnormal for me. I am not on birth control and have not for a year now. I have had nose bleeds, tender breasts, a constant discharge ( sorry for the TMI), slight headaches (though I do suffer from migranes, which none have occurred for a month), hot and cold flashes, (yet I normally love hot showers I want cold ones), moodiness. I have taken two off brand hpt but both negative. Oh! And the smells and cravings! I had a child at 16, but he passed away due to premature. I want a child but the negative test are bumming me out. My fiance doesn't want to get all wrapped up either due to let down, he has two children already. Can someone give me some insight of what you think or when I should test again?

So according to the info you posted...

How long are your cycles usually?  Do you recall when you had patches of fertile cervical fluid (CF)- creamy or eggwhite in consistency?  That could help us to pinpoint ovulation (O) better.  Even if you have clock work cycles, it is always possible to have delayed O.  Many common things can delay O and therefore delay AF like stress, illness, injury, travel, diet and exercise changes, etc.  It could be delayed by a few days or even weeks.  During this time, your hormones can fluctuate quite a bit trying to gear your body up to O again.  This could cause repeated patches of fertile CF, pregnancy-like symptoms, and breakthrough spotting.  So this is one thing that could be happening and you might end up bleeding in a few days or weeks.

When did you take the HPT's?  Did you take them with first of the morning urine (FMU)?  It's possible that it's too early to test if your O was later than usual.  The spotting could be implantation spotting (though this is not common).  If that is the case, you would need to wait a few more days to a week to test again.  If you didn't use FMU you also may not get accurate results if you're still early in the pregnancy.  Another alternative could be spotting around the time of expected AF and if that is the case then you should be getting accurate results now.  With your previous pregnancy do you recall when you tested positive?  Was it pretty late?  Some women take longer to test positive and some "fail" HPT's all together (though this is only like 1% of women).

So if you get another HPT and test negative again in a few days, but continue to experience symptoms and feel like you're pregnant then I'd recommend getting a blood test to confirm.  Good luck and keep us posted!
