Masel, I was wondering how things had turned out with your kitty. She was a beautiful cat. Be blessed and comforted <3

The kitty with gold on her shoulders and face is Whiskers. She died last weekend.
In the bouncy seat is Pixel. She's still kicking. This is one of the few pictures I have of her where she doesn't look like a black blob. She's has very thick dark fur which absorbs all light.
Sorry to hear about Whiskers, it's always hard to lose a pet.
The black cat is gorgeous! Sometimes i wish we didn't have a blonde dog and a double-coated black cat that sheds mostly whitish grey fur. I can't fathom getting a black cat or dog now, I wouldn't be able to wear anything!
The middle cat by the window, looking all squinty-eyed, looks EXACTLY like my sister's cat Rae Rae (the one who pees in your shoes). It's uncanny how similar some cats can be in appereance.
dogs becoming overprotective during pregnancy? any one elses?
my dog is getting super protective of me now. he's been sitting under me or right next to me every chance. i took him to my brothers and he just growled at my brother's room mate the whole time. eek! when i left he was fine and wanting attention from him. he's a different dog when i'm around to say the least. he was like this when i was preggo with DD. i'm planning on keeping him at my brothers once i get closer to due date only because he'll probably not let any one near me and having a hb. he's much better with women then men, but he might be a problem at birth. worst case if i don't get him to my brother's on time we would keep him outside until my brother can get here. a little 20 lb dog and he's just has to make things complicated.
i'm his chosen "pack leader". i found him about 4 1/2 years ago, he really found me... i was in an ally behind my old job with a co-worker and saw something moving. most people would have ignored it or not noticed. i whistled and out trots this little mutt. i could tell he was scared so i got on my knees and let him come to me. he ran up, placed his paws on my shoulders and licked my face. he was so scared and wouldn't let any one else near him. he was very under weight and had a rope tied around his neck that he chewed to get free. he was a mess, nose was dried out, eyes were runny. i searched for about 2 weeks the lost dog adds and drove around the area looking for signs. i didn't really think it would have been good to return him to whoever neglected/abused him, he does have many traits of an abused animal. he's had a long road to recovery and there's still some issues we're working with.
I know people talk about kids having regression after a new baby is born, but i'm afraid this pregnancy might cause some regression in my pet!
I haven't noticed her being more protective of me, but she does seem more "clingy". She wants to be petted a lot more (by me). She'll lay as close to me as she can, or sit with her head in my lap. She follows me around like a toddler, even into the bathroom. lol We haven't really been around strangers lately though, so I don't know how she'd be in that situation. Maybe she would be more protective?
Thank you all for the kind words about Whiskers.
The third cat in the picture is Little Jo. She died the first time I was pregnant. (Pixel says no more monkey kittens for me.) Until Jo took a turn a turn she really seemed to dote on me. She was a cranky cat who only seemed to have a soft spot for my husband so I was surprised to find her always in my lap when I was pregnant.
I've not noticed if Pixel is paying more attention to me now. She did have a funny look on her face the other day when she was sitting on my tummy and the baby gave her a good kick.
There was a friendly cat in my front yard chatting me up yesterday. I told it "I don't know what you've heard but we do not have an opening. It's too soon." It said "Meow" and went under my front porch. I guess I don't have a say in these things. :)
Masel,
it is so hard to lose a kitty.
mama2rio, that is a cute story about how your pup found you!!
I have a kitty that i am just so in love with ~ I love that we have a thread for pets so I can post more pics of him!
He sits like a human. Upright, on his bum. He does it all the time and will sometimes sleep in that position as well!
He has a bowl of water available to him at all times, but prefers to drink from the sink:
He also sleeps in the sink:
He likes to hide in baskets, boxes, or bags that he finds:
I love when he tucks all of his paws under his body - he looks like a little puff ball!:
I also love when he stretches out:
As you can see, I take almost as many pictures of my cat as I do of my kids!!
