It's NOT just a hallmark card holiday...it's as "Hallmark-y" as you make it....hahaha.

Valentines Day is wonderful...and much love to you for wishing us a happy one!

I am so freaking tired today.  I want to crawl back into bed and sleep for the rest of the day.  It definitely doesn't help that the gorgeous sunshine from this morning is now a thick layer of gray clouds.

The clouds are here too. I wish it would warm up and be spring time already. DD got a new kite, and I was hoping to take it flying tomorrow with her. Instead they are possibly predicting snow for later today. Blech.

It was 50s and sunny here today, so I walked to the coffeeshop to chat with friends for awhile, then walked home.

We might get significant snow on Sunday.  Should probably do our weekly shopping tonight.

Sunny and near 70 here for the second day in a row. Of course, I'm having this weird, intense, low-pelvic pain.. like round-ligament pain, but constant instead of shooting, like it usually does... idk. And last night, I had this one Looooooooooooooooong contraction that lasted for like 10 minutes. So I'm here with my feet up, drinking water and monitoring myself instead of hanging out outside.

I found out my placenta is anterior, but it is up about 4 inches from the bottom, so that is why I can still feel so much movement.

Stupid 24 hr stomach bug is roaming through the desert. Poor DD doesn't know how to make it to the bathroom before she gets sick. She has been through 4 pairs of pajamas and 3 sets of sheets today. Chicken noodle soup/"magic crackers" (saltines)/Watered down Gatorade seem to be helping a little bit. Hope it's gone by tomorrow.

I'm so sorry mama...we had the norovirus...NOT a 24 hour bug!! Little kids plus "pukies" = NOT GOOD. I'm so sorry she doesn't know to make it to the toilet, that's heartbreaking. :( I hate the confusion they get on their face and the panic. Ugh. :( Take care mama.

Yeah, poor thing hasn't ever really thrown up before (age 4). She woke up in the middle of the night crying and saying "I spit up a lot mama!" I got her in a warm bath because it was all in her hair and she looks up at me with this pitiful face and says "I didn't KNOW I could get sick." Luckily she already seems to be feeling a lot better, but I'm insisting on couch time for the rest of the day.

My daughter got nailed by norovirus on Sunday night.  She is doing better, but is still puny.  She did keep some bland foods down today, but I am staying home with her tomorrow because we don't want to send her back to daycare before it's really under control.  This is her third "tummy sick" illness this year and I am going batty!  We still had a carpet shampooer we borrowed from a friend so that was helpful since she got it all over her bed and carpet.  Not pretty.

Oh mama, I'm so sorry this is happening to your baby too! The most pitiful thing I've ever seen, is my DDs little pale face...looking up at me "is it going to happen again, mama, is the throw-ups going to come again? I never want it, ever again" - heartbreaking stuff!

The one saving grace for us, is that she knows how to make it to the bathroom or her pukey bucket (somehow, at age 3.5! Praise the heavens!) and so the only time she got it anywhere but the toilet or the bucket was when she woke in the middle of the night to run to the bathroom to find Dada puking in the toilet, me on the floor puking in the bucket and no where else to go...so she just kind of moaned, opened her mouth and puked on the bathroom floor!

Norovirus is the worst. Please be careful...the virus is highly contagious for two weeks after first episode of vomiting. Also, it is SO stripping to the immune system! We have strong immune systems here...this illness absolutely stripped us down. We got Noro on SuperBowl weekend....and have been sick ever since. First we had Noro, then the "phase two of noro" chest/head cold that some people are getting, then just as we were getting rid of that (still kind of clinging to us) my husband developed a sinus infection..and then we all got sick with ANOTHER stomach bug that had us with horrible vomiting and terrible tummy trouble on the other end. So, we are laying EXTREMELY low, because we clearly cannot fight anything off at this point. I understand why this virus is wreaking havoc in nursing homes....it just kills.

Also, if your DD really has noro...be aware that it is taking a lot of people (especially kids) forEVER to really get back to normal with eating and energy levels. The energy level has been the worst for us...our bodies just got SO heavy and we needed SO much sleep when we were trying to fight the original virus. My MIL (who is insanely fit and healthy) got it four or five weeks ago and she is STILL not back to herself with her appetite. So, if your little miss is really grouchy and picky and weird for a while, that's what is going on with her. It's just taking people forEVER to really feel back to themselves after having this virus.

It's honestly the most ill I've ever been in my life. I've never, ever experienced anything like it. I've had the flu before, this makes a real-live influenza feel like a walk in the park. The pain, the *CONSTANT* vomiting...the whole thing. The feeling in our bodies, like we couldn't even move....at one point I was actually crawling across the floor to get to the bathroom...and had to stop and rest along the way. It was like, freaking PLAGUE. So...whatever you can do to immuno boost and try and protect yourself, do it.

Some people are finding that only half the family gets it...some people are strangely very immune to it. My DH, DD and myself all got it SO bad. My son...never got it (which was kind of a nightmare in and of itself! I'm literally crawling on the floor, thinking I'm dying...my rambunctious two year old is like "oooh, horsey game!!" hahah) My DS got the cold with us after the fact....but he never got the noro thing, some slight poo-poo problems, a little cranky...a fever, I could tell he was fighting something...but he didn't actually, truly, get it. I hope you are your DH are that lucky mama!

Aww, hope she is so much better today. We are suffering the same here in the fingrelakes of NY, too. My little girl (yes, she is 18 but she is still my baby) just got out of the hospital last night. She was so terribly ill she was blacking out after each episode. What a terrible few days! Being in the hospital has totally reinforced my resolve to keep fighting to have my baby at home. A battle that is going well, currently. I found a homebirth midwife, now I am on pins and needles as we await a decision from FHP.

That is so goddamned scary. Oh god...I'm so sorry that is happening to you. I'm totally sending healing vibes to your family/DD...that sucks SO so bad. :(

You are describing her to a "T."  She is able to keep down water and bland foods but is owly and still acting puny and droopy even though her vomiting ended Monday afternoon.  She is also a lot more emotional.  So far, knock on wood, my husband and I have been having what you mentioned for your son...unsettled stomachs, but nothing violently bad.

I think that's a good sign...if you had *nothing* I'd be worried...but *something* means it's hitting you and you're fighting it. I'm hoping so hard for you that this is as bad as it gets for the two of you. Yeah, were I you, I'd settle in the for "long haul" with DD...this just seems to take so much out of you. We really suffered...we've never been ill like this and we've never taken such a long time to recover from anything. :(

I've been sitting here eating girl scout cookies and milk for the past 15 minutes.  I don't see myself stopping anytime soon.  And I'm convincing myself it's okay because without the cookies - I wouldn't be drinking the milk and getting the protein.
