Yay, I was just thinking we needed a chat thread!

Not really any symptoms here yet, but that's not surprising for how early I am.  I'll be 6 weeks on Monday so I wouldn't be surprised if m/s starts kicking in soon.  The cramping on my right side has tapered off over the last week, I'm grateful for that.

Each day when I click on the group I'm excited to see that we have more members, that our DDC is starting to fill up!
... Just trying to take things day by day so I don't start getting worried and so I get a chance to just treasure each moment we have!!
Thank you for this and right there with you.

This baby is another surprise-dang latex allergy-but a wonderful one. I was *just* making some awesome progress with my chronic fatigue, fibro, major food allergies, hormone imbalances, vulvar vestibulitis, GI issues, when he/she came. The good news is that I'm feeling better tnan I have in years and can continue most of what's helping me during preg AND this preg I know my food allergen-gluten, dairy, eggs, peanuts, and more!-so babe will have several advantages because of this. But, I still have a looong way to go until healing and babe is starting out with a not well mom. :( All I can do though is eat well, take supps, and hope for a healthy babe and continue to find strength and peace and thankfullness from God. I believe that though He uses us, each baby is given to us from God and this baby is a gift.

1babysmom, wow, I'm sorry for your health struggles! So good to hear though that your making progess though!! I'll be praying or you. We want more children too, but have been taking a break since our 3.5 yo to get me healthy. It took some time to get to the bottom of things. My biggest concern for this pregnancy is baby not getting nourished properly because of my impared digestion from dysbiosis and damage done by food allergies. greensad.gif and usually moms with low hormone levels have babes with low hormone levels. greensad.gif I am taking progesterone cream to keep this babe as my levels are low. We feel sober, I guess largely due to each of our children being sicker (food allergies, minor eczema, yeast/bacteria, and our last son was born with smallish genitals which points to vit/mineral def.) than the previous and our own reading. God uses all things for good though, we're confident of that. Thanks for the EFM heas up btw! I need to look more closely into that. Jen

You are way ahead of me in the supp. dept! I wish I had been taking my supps before conception. Thankfully, my diet was good for a littli beforehand. I fell off after my last miscarriage, but truly I feel night and day with this diet. I is a miracle! I'm doing (allergen free, low oxolate, anticandida) GAPS diet. I had just got my expensive and the only probiotic (ive tried lots) I see results with in the mail when I found out I was expecting. It gave my die off badly, so I wont be taking it till 11 weeks after baby has developed all his in and out parts. I take prenatals, whole food b vits, zinc, cal/mag, a, d, fish oil, and a whole food immune boosting complex with carotenoids, flavonoids, and cruciferous compounds. And milk thistle when I can remember. Oh and digestive enzymes/acid, too. Sounds like read some of the same stuf, lol.

Hi ladies, hope I can join in here.  I've also been struggling with leaky gut and food allergies.  DS2 was so fussy as an infant, it was really hard.  I did eventually figure out it was the dairy and gluten in my diet, which I couldn't digest because of my leaky guy.  I've been working with a naturopath since September on my eczema, leaky gut, food sensitivities, and chronic fatigue.  I am sooo much better, but feel like I still have a ways to go.  Your stories both sound so familiar to me.  Currently I am only taking my prenatal, l-glutamine, P5P b6, and a custom amino acid blend.  I was also taking this supplement called arabinex but stopped when I suspected I was pregnant.  I know I can't handle CLO when I'm pregnant.. Burping it up all day is just no fun! I need to be adding some iron to my diet as I'm borderline anemic and I guess I'll see what else my naturopath recommends.  So glad to know I'm not alone on this frustrating journey.  I really just want to have a healthy and HAPPY baby this time.

1babysmom- What kind of digestive enzyme are you taking?

Hi mama!  I'm encouraged, too.  Thanks for joining in! I'm working with a ND as well. I've had a food allergy test, cortisol/progesterone test, comprehensive stool analysis, and was about to have a heavy metal test, but that will have to wait now! I highly recommend Blood Builder by MegaFood.  The vitamin c is from whole oranges, the folate is from broccoli, and the  B-12 and Iron are from fermented beets.  I can take it on an empty stomach just fine and this is a supp. that I feel energy from when taking.  You can read reviews at iherb (above link).  Also, you could try taking your fish oil just before bed. That's what I do and no fishy burps the next day. I'm not 1babysmom, but I use Similase for digestive enzymes.  I get it through my ND for $23 a bottle that lasts me about a month.  Praying for a happy, healthy baby for you. Jen

LOL. It is hard at first, but we stuck it through and it feels like our new norm now.  My diet is actually more restricted than full gaps (no sweet veggies or fruits, basically, oh and oxalate foods).  I'm really looking forward to working up to full GAPS. That would be so wonderful. I really notice huge healing/die off when doing a anti-candida diet plus STRONG probiotic plus herbal stuff like goldenseal.  I can see candida and bacteria (a tape worm when I added in the goldenseal!) exiting. Sorry, way tmi!  I've never stayed very long on this combo long enough though due to moving, pregnancy, running out of money for supps, etc. We were just getting ready to add in the supps again before I conceived!  I can't wait to have a clean gut someday, lol, and eat more foods!

VSL #3. It has 450 billion bacteria per packet.  There is nothing like it really.  It has 8 strains which is more than most probiotics, but it doesn't have S. bouldari.  Still, I get results.  My plan would be to take a full packet for a few months and then the maintenance dose would be a 1/4 packet or 1/4 tsp. and that would just be $20 a month...much more reasonable.  The cheapest place to get it is their website.  Free 2 day shipping and it comes on ice.  It's so expensive, but worth it, IME.

I have a few IRL friends that are doing GAPS!  I know one family has done it previously and it helped them, now they're starting over again.

All my babes have had food sensitivities, it runs in my side of the family.  greensad.gif  All 4 were sensitive to dairy and soy as infants and young toddlers, DS2 was also sensitive to egg.  DS2 is back on an elimination diet again so I can see what's currently bothering him, he's been waking up and screaming 5-6 times a night again.  He's been on it for about a week and has shown great improvement, in another week I'll start gradually reintroducing foods to test so I can be sure of what all is bothering him.

Thanks so much for your advice ladies!!  I had a consult with my ND today and she put me on Wellness Essentials for Pregnancy (I was taking rainbow light prenatal).  I'm going to keep up my amino acids and L-Glutamine and add a probiotic 2x/day.  She said I could take digestive enzymes if I'm feeling bloated.  So far I'm doing ok, so I will take that one by ear as I easily spent $200 today in about 20 mins, lol.  Good health is pricey!  I asked about the Blood Builder by MegaFood since I was borderline anemic in my last pregnancy.  She said that the Essentials should give me enough iron because it is a much easier form to absorb.  What do you all think?

Oh, and she wants me to do the ALCAT, which I've been putting off for months now...  So glad to be getting a handle on all this early in my pregnancy!!

Also, I wanted to get your opinion on Calcium consumption.  Since I took dairy out of my diet, I have not been very good about making sure I'm getting enough calcium (even though I am still nursing).  Now that I'm pregnant, I feel like I defiantly need a supplement since there is no way I can get enough calcium from food.  What do you take or recommend? I forgot to ask my ND today.
