Overdue Thread! - Page 8

I'm still hanging as well. I'm 41 weeks today. I've been having irregular cx all day long today, but am not getting my hopes up. They've really slowed down in the past three hours, but baby is moving like CrAzY! I'm hoping maybe she's thinking of flipping head down at the last minute.

My goodness Cassandra, 43+1??? They changed the EDD based on an u/s at 42 weeks? I didn't realize that was even possible--based on what I wonder? I certainly hope your induction efforts start to pay off soon--good for you for going HIKING! That's awesome!

Good luck to everyone still hanging out... I hope everyone can spontaneously go into labor when it's right for you. I thought it was just never going to happen. And it had been QUIET for a day or two. No real practice contrax or even BH much.

thanks mrscookie, it really is reassuring!

MamaShannon - well I always had cycles of varying lengths, and I didn't have any ultrasounds the entire pregnancy. When we were nearing the 42 week mark we got the first one to be sure everything still looked good, and based on measurements, placenta, etc. they said the baby was only 39 weeks and gave a new EDD based on that calculation... It's hardly an exact science it seems, so I guess simply Im just 'overdue' haha

Is your little one breech right now?? Hopefully you're having that baby today!

But now I am just torn... should I continue up with all of my inducing techniques? My next appointment is tomorrow and it will probably be another membrane sweep and herbs.. I've been taking a 5 week blend for the past weeks though and that obviously hasn't sped things up. Or just sit back and relax and know it will have to happen eventually????

Oh my. Ultrasound at 39 weeks would just be based on size then? Or is there something else they can use for dating? My EDD based on LMP was originally 2.2.12 which was then adjusted to 2.20.12 based on 9 week US, later confirmed at 20 and 28 weeks. I'm so thankful that we threw the LMP date out the window since I went to 42 weeks almost.

Well, I'm still here, BUT I'm in labor!!! joy.gif Things started around 4am this morning with early labor, and I think I might be moving into active labor now. 42w 2d.

mrscookie - yeah I guess just size and state of the placenta (no deterioration, etc.) he said the placenta was definitely not 42 weeks old and baby was ~7lbs 10oz but head size, stomach size, etc? were indicating only 39 weeks. So unfortunate to have it changed so late in the game, I am glad yours was changed early!

wow, so happy for you odinsmommy - were you doing things to induce leading up to this or just spontaneously started this AM???

I am still here and pregnant. Got my dates changed to go by conceptions(cause I know the exact day it was our 10th anniversary) and I am 41 weeks 4 days in stead of 42 weeks 1 day so I am excited about that cause it will buy me some more time to still have the birth I want outside the hospital.

Found a new place to do the NST and BPP so hopefully it will be less traumatic this time.

I am so thankful for my midwives who trust in birth and have reassured me that my baby and I are doing great and It WILL happen. My baby will come when ready.

I was really sick in the beginning with Hyperemesis so i think this baby just needs all the time they can get wombside.

CASSANDRA O- Hang in there mama! It feels good to get a little more time doesn't it? The end of 42 weeks seems like this looming horrible deadline. We will have our babies soon!

ODINSMOMMY- WOOhoo! SO exciting! Hope your busy birthing at the moment!  I am thinking of you!

@ OdinsMommmy: YAAAAAY!!! I hope things are going well with you! I know you were really trying to avoid any sort of induction method, so it's encouraging to see you post about labor regardless :) :) :) Can't wait to read your birth post and story!

@ Cassandra: That makes perfect sense. That must have kind of messed with your mind though--to think you're overdue and then essentially go back in time 3 weeks. But given baby's measurements and what-not, you're still so near the end!! I'd say just relax and let things happen. That's totally my midwife's take on things. Baby will come when baby is ready :)

@HumbleLuna: I'm so glad your dates were changed so that you could buy more time. Let's hope this baby comes quickly so you won't even have to worry about further testing!

As for me, I saw my MW today and all looks well! I'm 1.5cm dilated/fully effaced (@41w1d). She is still breech (she turned unexpectedly at 38 weeks after being head down since 32), and we are thinking she is in a frank breech position, so at least that's good. Next appointment is this Friday, but hopefully I'll be having her before then!!!

Thanks so much for your encouragement, I am so thankful for MDC and the chance to connect with other like minded Mamas. This has been a hard couple of weeks and this forum has  helped me so much. We can have babies post 41 weeks just fine :) Blessings to all of you!

The silence on this thread is making me really hopeful for our last few mamas!!!  Looking forward to some updates.  :)

After 44 hours of labor including nearly 2 hours of pushing, Dexter Daniel (43w 3 almost 4d) was born via amazing hospital VBAC after HBAC transfer at 11:58 pm Tuesday, March 6th. While it wasn't the homebirth I wanted or envisioned, it was exactly what baby and mommy needed. He weighed a whopping 9lbs 14.5 oz, with an ascyclintic head presentation. We're both tired but recovering well. My midwife was amazingly supportive throughout the whole process. More details to come later.

Hope everyone else is blessed with beautiful experiences in our postdate and post term pregnancies.

Congrats OdinsMommy! I hope you are feeling positive about your birth and are enjoying your new blessing! Our babes share a Birthday, after all that waiting! Isn't is fantastic we don't have to wait anymore!

My beautiful baby girl, Nalah Penelope was welcomed earth side on March 6th at 11:30 pm (16 days after her due date!) weighing 9lbs 7 oz!

The birth went so fast, my water broke at 10pm, we got the the birth center at 10:30 and she was born around 11:30!  I had contractions before my water broke but they were not painful enough for me to even know if it was the real thing or not(despite being 2 weeks overdue).

The birth was beautiful and terrifying. Scary moments for both baby(baby getting stuck after her head was born) and me when I had a pretty severe hemorrhage after the birth of the placenta.

I am still processing the birth and deciding if I want to share the details or not.  I don't want to scare other mamas out there.

I am so thankful we are both here and well, the best blessing ever...and thanking god it turned out well in the end.
